BASIN 18 YADKIN-PEE DEE BASIN DESCRIPTION The Yadkin-Pee Dee Basin is the northern portion of a large river system that drains central North Carolina and northeastern South Carolina. The basin is divided into four sub-basins. The headwaters of the Yadkin River drain the eastern slope of the Blue Ridge Mountains, northeast of Blowing Rock.
