I started the Formula Renault in 2009 with Fortec in FR UK, I finished 6 th , but it wasn’t too bad, it was a really tough year, with good drivers in it. We continued in FR UK last year but we had few problems so we get back in the championship in 4 th position, but it was quite good, I show a good performance and we thought it was time to get back in Europe and I’ve shown very good passages here. But now, we’re back in England, we got car experience and we should have a good week end, I hope ...”. 04 03 Considered in the last couple of years as the rising star of motorsport in UK and contracted by Honda F1, Will’s career unfortunately slowed down for many reasons, explanation: 04 20 ITW Will Stevens (GBR) – Fortec Motorsport (in English) “With the Brawn GP Formula 1 team, it was a really good experience , and to be taken by Brawn GP was a good thing for me because it was a car contract. But the direction changes after this into Mercedes GP and a lot of people have been changed, and our adventure finished up. Now we are back and all continues ...”. 04 51 His target for 2011 is to win the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 championship, which will serve as a platform to take up Will to Formula Renault 3.5 in 2012. This success story could continue with Fortec Motorsport, also involved in this serie. 05 15 Jingle ‘’FORMULA RENAULT 2.0 – SILVERSTONE RACE 2’’ Renault Sport Technologies Tél. : +33 (0)1 76 82 82 00 Z.A. Lynn seemed perfectly at ease and got away well to lead ahead of Frijns, who also started strongly from the second row and launched an unstoppable charge to take first place from the British youngster. 05 33 Paul-Loup Chatin occupied third place at this stage, followed by Felix Serralles and Stoffel Vandoorne. Weckström and Sainz Jr. were the first lap’s biggest losers, slipping down to sixth and ninth place respectively. 05 44 It remained tight at the front of the pack all the way to the chequered flag, but it was Frijns who eventually emerged victorious for his fourth win of the season. Lynn and Chatin came home in second and third respectively, and the pair enjoyed podium finishes for the first time this season. The win caps a perfect weekend for Frijns in the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0. He extends his lead over Carlos Sainz Jr. 06 03 GFX (Full Page) Race Classification 06 13 ITW Robin Frijns (NED) #34 – Josef Kaufmann Racing (in English) It was a really hard race for me. I had to push to pull away from Lynn. I managed to have a good start, went from P3 to P1. Actually the whole race, I was concentrated on the exits of the corners, to avid mistakes. Which I did, so I managed to keep him behind me, and won my second race of the week-end. 06 32 GFX (Full page) Championship Classification 06 42 Podium Ceremony 06 50 Jingle ‘’WSR’’ 06 54 End of Part 1 COMMERCIAL BREAK Renault Sport Technologies Tél. : +33 (0)1 76 82 82 00 Z.A. As a result, the Frenchman started the race from the pits at the back of the field, and could only watch on as Wickens made the perfect start. The Marussia Virgin Racing reserve driver led in the early stages ahead of Rossi, Ricciardo, Berthon, Costa and debutant Nick Yelloly. While Rossi piled the pressure on race leader Wickens, an equally intriguing battle for fourth place was shaping up between Berthon and Costa. The Spaniard chanced his luck several times, but was unable to find an opening. 07 37 With ten minutes to go, Ricciardo launched a surprise attack on Rossi and succeeded in snatching second place. He then set his sights on race leader Wickens, but the gap between the pair by this stage was too great. Ricciardo refused to give up and even managed to record the fastest lap of the race in the latter stages, but Wickens held his nerve to take the chequered flag. It was the Canadian’s third race victory of the season, and he came home in front of Ricciardo and Rossi. 07 58 GFX (Full page) Race Classification 08 08 ITW Robert Wickens (CDN) #6 – Carlin (Language English) “With my competitive running in the championship, qualifying height, you know, it’s great to be first, I knew that, so there is an opportunity there.
