LeRoy led the Pioneers to their 24th overall NCAA Championship in 2018 and sixth in his tenure. Alpine skier have registered 19 individual National Championships during his 13 appearances. Denver has had ve athletes go on to be Olympians and 106 All-Americans coached by LeRoy. He was named Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association Coach of the Year for alpine in each of his rst three seasons at Denver. From 2003-06, LeRoy served as alpine coach for the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club, where he was named the Rocky Mountain Regional Coach of the Year in 2005 and Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club Coach of the Year in 2006. Before moving to Steamboat to coach at the club level, LeRoy served as an assistant at the University of Colorado from 2001-02, helping the Buff s to a second-place nish at the 2001 and third-place nish at the 2002 NCAA National Championships. A former alpine skier at CU, LeRoy was a First Team All-American and individual national champion in the slalom at the 2000 NCAA National Championships and named CU Athlete of the Year that same year. LeRoy was a member of the U.S. Ski Team from 1993-99 and was on the 1998 U.S. Winter Olympic team that competed in Nagano, Japan. He won the North American Cup Slalom title in 1999. He also holds the British National Slalom Championship from 1997. LeRoy is happily married with two children. TWITTER: @DU_SKIING | INSTAGRAM: DU_SKIING UNIVERSITY OF DENVER SKIING - HOME TO 24 NATIONAL CHAPMIONSHIPS Tyler Shepherd Eighth Season • Colorado (2005) Tyler Shepherd joined the Pioneers coaching staff as an assistant in the summer of 2012 and enters his eighth season in 2020. In 2018, he was named the Alpine Coach of the Year by RMISA. He helped the Pioneers capture their 24th NCAA title in 2018. Overall, he has helped the University of Denver to three NCAA Championships and eight top- ve nishes. Shepherd has coached 11 individual National Champions, 64 All-Americans, and ve olympians. Prior to coming to Denver, Shepherd served as the alpine head coach at the University of New Mexico. His coaching career started off in 2007 as the ski cross head coach for the United States Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA). Shepherd led the team in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver in 2010. The USSA dropped the ski cross program, allowing Shepherd to return to the NCAA, taking the alpine head coaching position at UNM in the fall of 2010. Shepherd, a member of the U.S. National Team from 1998-2001, skied collegiately at University of Colorado from 2001-03. In 2002 he raced to First Team All-American honors in the slalom. Shepherd continued skiing after graduation in the skiercross, competing in the X-Games and on the World Cup circuit. Shepherd received his B.S. in Advertising in 2005 from the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Colorado. A former professional Nordic ski racer, Brown joins the staff as an assistant coach after spending the last 13 months in Bozeman, Montana, working both as a head coach of the elite and postgraduate Nordic team with the Bridger Ski Foundation.
