The Vision – Mission statement of the organization is as follows: OUR VISION The vision of the organization is to empower women, child and adolescents, youths, deprived communities, especially minorities and backward classes and common people in rural & urban areas. OUR MISSION To ensure that women, child and adolescents, youths, deprived communities, especially minorities and backward classes and common people in rural areas are empowered through inputs in education, health and hygiene, vocational training, games and sports and environmental sustainability with active participation of the rural people. In this connection I , on behalf of the organization, convey greetings, good wishes and endless thanks to the active community leaders, grass root workers, beneficiaries and our bonafide office workers who coped with the stress of activities gladly and co-operated every time with the valued counsel. [Type text]Page 3 KAGUS HISTORY Beginning with a KAGUS is a well-recognized Non small group of Governmental Organization (NGO) in committed people, Malda, West Bengal and has various KHANPUR AZAD donations related permissions. It is an Indian NGO for our activities with one non-formal Social Services, Indian Child Welfare education and vocational training center for Services, and Welfare for the Rural Woman, women in the village Khanpur during last seventeen years our activities have been Rural Education and Self Employment. broadened in the fields of female literacy, formal education for children, nonformal education, rural employment, income generating skills, SHG formation, community health and awareness programmes on various social issues. The activities reach out to poor and marginalized women, adolescents and disadvantaged and marginalized children from rural areas of Malda district. KAGUS journey owes much to the unflagging support of a large number of friends, supporters and well-wishers of Chanchal II Block, Malda district. Malda is a district covering area of 3733 sq Km with Bihar and Uttar Dinajpur at North , Murshidabad at South , Bangladesh at east , and Jharkhand and Bihar at West. It shares 165.5 km international border with Bangladesh. Having a central location it is an important junction and entry point to Siliguri from South Bengal. The river Ganga makes its first entry in West Bengal near Manikchak of Malda. As it is a low lying basin, it is prone to flood. The gateway of North Bengal, Malda, once the capital of Gour-Banga with its 3456 sq kms lay of the land classified into Tal, Diara, and Barind awaits the advent of tourists and people of archeological interest with its wealth to be enjoyed and its huge potential to be explored. This portion of the Earth is washed by the waves of the rivers Ganges, Mahananda, Fulahar, Kalindri and had been the witness of different empires raised, flourished and cast down near oblivion by a successor kingdom built up on the relics of its predecessor. Panini mentioned a city named Gourpura, which by strong [Type text]Page 4 reason may be identified as the city of <Gouda, ruins of which are situated in this district. Examples are legion of the relic of a predecessor kingdom being used in the monuments of the successor kingdoms. OBJECTIVES ● To collaborate and converge with the different service providers and with extension agencies, Panchayet Raj Institutions, Voluntary agencies, Industrial and Business houses, Central & State Govt. and International development activities. ● Identify the priority areas of vulnerable target community minorities, SC, ST, backward classes, Dalits and other underprivileged for immediate interventions. ● Awareness, training and capacity building activities, ● Livelihood development activities related to socio-economic development, ● To pursue the educational activities related to child, adult-both formal systems, ● To establish Quality Standards of Childcare units-institution, homes, orphanages for the vulnerable children. ● To strengthen community oriented non-institutional services like adoption, foster care, day care, night shelter, crèche, sponsorship, family counseling, and other community centers. ● To pursue the community health related activities, sanitation, prevention and care units for HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and malaria and life cycle approach of RCH (Reproductive &Child Health) services. ● Activities to promote cultural status uplifting the indigenous cultural status and local folks, ● To establish programme for relinquished children, establish home and rehabilitation units. ● To work for the prevention of cruelty to animals by establishing the animal care unit, ambulance for animals and necessary centers for the same. ● To establish different programmes and helpline services for women and children in difficult circumstances and work for the rehabilitation of child labours by opening special school. ● To establish drug de-addiction centers, ● To open charitable dispensaries, maternity home, Children’s clinics, Orphanage, family planning centers. ● To encourage and impart education of science and technology, in cultivation. To establish center of art, culture and technical education for the welfare of the distressed people. ● PLAN OF ACTIONS Identify the priority areas of vulnerable target community especially minorities, backward classes, Dalit and other underprivileged for immediate intervention. ● Evolve orientation and training modules for sensitization, awareness generations, and capacity building of various target community and service providers who have impact over the vulnerable target groups. ● Prepare and maintain data base and conduct situational analysis on the magnitude of problem and available existence services. ● Undertake
