Ms. J Bhuvaneswari i s Director/Principal e e “Play a sport. It will teach you how to win honourably, lose gracefully, respect authority, work with n d others, manage time, and stay out of trouble.” t Presidency School Bangalore South has always strived to achieve a holistic approach to i nurture every child that enters the portal of this school. It has been constantly creating new a l V benchmarks in the field of academics and intends to do the same in the field of sports. As the head of the institution I believe, that sports play a vital role not just to build the a l character of a child but also to help it blossom fully. l e u The sports coaching that are held in school in the morning and evening is a step that helps a e students polish their skills and shine bright. The school and the parents should encourage r students to participate in large numbers. Sports is more than just physical exercise, it helps n b develop discipline and determination. It helps improve focus, team spirit and the grace to i a handle failure. It teaches every student that when they put on that jersey, the name on the n s front is more important than the name on the back. g e d V E a x l p u e e r i b e a n s t e i d It is the need of the hour to have a sports curriculum so that the importance of it is brought a out to the world. Students should be introduced to indoor and outdoor games from a very l young age so that their dependence of technologically advanced video games decreases, V that does nothing, other than turn them into couch potatoes. l a We must ensure that we provide the right environment for our students and encourage e l them to participate in sports. We must make them realize that practice makes man perfect a u and their innate talents should not be wasted away, infact sports in many ways is more r n e difficult than academics as it needs constant practice during rain or shine. i The school does cater to sports, but a 40 minute class might not be sufficient to bring out the b n best in every child and that’s where these sports classes before and after school hours play a g a pivotal role. The students should push their limits as, the more difficult the challenge, the s greater is the joy of achieving it. e d Finally along with academic credit a student should possess an exposure in sports that will help them excel in their respective fields. So, just play, have fun and enjoy the game! 6 Effective communication Effective communication Effective communication PSBS Child Centric Child Centric Child Centric V a l E u x e p e b r a i s e e n d t i a l V a l l e u a e r n b i a n s g e d V E a x l p u e e r i b e a n s t e i d a l V l a e l a u r e n i b n a g s e d Effective communication Effective communication Effective communication PSBS Child Centric Child Centric Child Centric V a l E u x e p e b r a i s e e n d t i a l V a l l e u a e r n b i a n s g e d Presidency School Bangalore South sent out a strong message on the occasion of World Environment Day which is celebrated on June 5.
