PRESS RELEASE - BasicNet is the new owner of the Briko® brand Turin, June 5, 2017 – BasicNet S.p.A has exercised its purchase option over the Briko brand as per the exclusive global distribution license for all Briko® brand products signed on March 18, 2016. Closing is scheduled by July 31, 2017. Since its foundation in 1985, the Briko® brand has marketed helmets, eyewear and apparel for skiing and cycling and has been closely associated with a number of athletes, including the skiers Alberto Tomba, Marc Girardelli, Lasse Kjus, Deborah Compagnoni, Kristian Ghedina, Jure Kosir, Bode Miller, Lindsey Vonn Peter Fill, the Nordic skiers Björn Daehlie and Piller Cottrer and the cyclists Tony Rominger, Marco Pantani and Mario Cipollini. BasicNet, following the successful exclusive distribution license phase, will fully bring its business model and specific applications to the brand, which in the past have delivered success for the Kappa®, Robe di Kappa®, Superga® and K-Way® brands.
