Board of Directors Election ............4 Competitive Scholarship Women of the Year .........................5 These scholarships are for those outstanding students who are involved in your foot- ball programs. There are 10 scholarships awarded statewide. In addition to players Spicer Awards ................................5 this could include managers, statisticians, student trainers, football cheerleaders, or State Coaches of the Year ...............5 any others that are part of your program. All candidates need to fill out a scholarship form and return it according to the directions. These awards are based on class rank, Homorary Members .......................5 ACT score, GPA, references, and a student biography. Successful candidates in the Regional Coaches of the Year .........6 past have generally had a GPA of 3.5 or higher and an ACT score of 25 or higher. If you have such a deserving student please give the application form to them to Assistant Coaches of the Year ........7 complete. (See application form in this Newsletter.) Reading Awards .............................7 Terry Rose Memorial Scholarship Team Academic Awards .................8 This $1000 scholarship is available to the children of MHSFCA members. The only requirements are that the son or daughter is planning to attend an institution of higher Individual Academic All State .......9 learning next year and that their parent is a member of the Michigan High School Recruiting Fairs/Seminars ...........11 Football Coaches Association. You should send your child’s name, your name and address and the name of the high school you are associated with for each child that Scholarship Application ...............12 is eligible.
