Components of Computer Hardware Software • Hardware is that part of computer • Software is that part of the computer which you can see and touch which makes the hardware work. Examples: Monitor, Keyboard, Mouse Software cannot be touched. and the part inside the CPU box. Examples: Windows, Paint, Microsoft Word, Logo, etc. 2 Input Devices Input devices are those devices that are used to enter data and instructions into the computer Mouse Keyboard Joystick Microphone Touchscreen 3 Processing Devices Central Processing Unit (CPU) The Central Processing Unit (CPU) process the input given by the input devices. It actually execute the instructions. AMD and IBM are some well-known manufactures of processors 4 Output Devices The devices on which the output is produced after processing is called output devices. 5 Storage Devices The computer uses data and software. So the computer needs devices to store data and software. For this, the computer uses storage devices or memory devices.
