Toronto, Ontario M7A 2T5 alPHa Sections: Dear Minister Bradley, Boards of Health Re: Bill 138, Ending Coal for Cleaner Air Act, 2013 Section Council of Ontario On behalf of member Medical Officers of Health, Boards of Health and Affiliate organizations of Medical Officers of the Association of Local Public Health Agencies (alPHa), I am writing today in support of the Health (COMOH) elimination of coal-fired power generation in Ontario. The significant health impacts of poor air quality have long been known, and have been the Affiliate subject of a number reports on the subject. Management We therefore strongly supported the 2007 decision to shut down Ontario’s coal-fired electricity Association of Ontario plants by the end of 2014, and we strongly support the additional provisions in Bill 138 that will Public Health Business ensure that new coal-fired facilities are not built to replace them.
