City Manager's Fiscal Year 2018 Recommended Operating Budget ACTION: CITY COUNCIL WILL RECEIVE COMMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON THE CITY MANAGER'S RECOMMENDED FISCAL YEAR 2018 OPERATING BUDGET. BACKGROUND: This is the first of two advertised public hearings on the City Manager's recommended operating budget for FY 2018. The second public hearing will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 13, 2017, at the Denbigh Community Center, located at 15198 Warwick Boulevard, in Room 113. FISCAL IMPACT: N/A E. Ordinance Authorizing Lease Addendum No. 10, by and between the City of Newport News, Virginia and Davis Boat Works, Inc., for Parcel 12, Located in the Newport News Seafood Industrial Park (SIP) ACTION: A REQUEST TO ADOPT AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE LEASE ADDENDUM NO. 10 BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF NEWPORT NEWS, VIRGINIA, AND DAVIS BOAT WORKS, INC., D/B/A FAIRLEAD BOATWORKS (FAIRLEAD) FOR PARCEL 12 LOCATED IN THE NEWPORT NEWS SEAFOOD INDUSTRIAL PARK (SIP). BACKGROUND: City Council was briefed at its March 28th Work Session regarding the recent completion of a two-phase City project at the terminus of lower Jefferson Avenue. The City project impacted SIP Parcels 12 and 16 which are currently leased from the City by Fairlead and its business operations thereon. Consistent with your Work Session briefing, it is now appropriate to amend the SIP Parcel 12 Lease to adjust the square footage and provide for a three-month rent abatement. The net additional square footage to be added to the leaseable area of SIP Parcel 12 is 13,071.54 square feet. All other terms and conditions of the existing Lease will remain the same and in full force and effect. The City Manager recommends approval. FISCAL IMPACT: The total appraised value of the acquisition is $8,500. Funding for this acquisition is available through previously appropriated State and Federal funds.
