Kulkarni Registrar, IIPS Dr. Madhav Kishanrao Kulkarni has been appointed as Registrar of IIPS with effect from 21st October 2008. Prior to joining our Institute he was working as Assistant Director (Confidential) with Union Pub- lic Service Commission (UPSC) in New Delhi. He has done his M.Sc. (Zoology) at Marathwada University, Aurangabad. He acquired his PhD de- gree from the same University in 1994. The topic of his thesis was “A study of Biotoxins of Algal Ori- gin”. He has vast experience on finance, administration, training and preparing university syllabus. He worked for various Staff Selection Commission boards to conduct exams, such as Indian Railway Recruitment Board, B.S.R.B., Medical and UGC’s National Eligibility Test for Lectureship (NET) and State Eligibility Test for Lectureship (SET). The perfect documentation, regular procurement of demographic information sources, quick and smooth service, adoption of tech- nology etc. are the unique qualities adopted by the IIPS library from the beginning and continued till today. We are presenting a brief reminiscence about our library. Initially it was occupying a portion of the main building (currently occupied by the administration section office, IIPS). On 19th June, 1982 the library has shifted to an independent new building. Orientation of the library and the software is a part of the academic program of the Institute.
