The calendar of festivities will consist of halo events like the 28th staging of the Tour Auto Optic 2ooo and the 5th Chantilly Arts & Elegance Richard Mille. And, of course, there are the usual classic venues that host the series by Peter Auto comprising Classic Endurance Racing 1 & 2, Sixties' Endurance, The Greatest’s Trophy, the Heritage Touring Cup, Group C Racing, 2.0L Cup, and Endurance Racing Legends that will now appear at the majority of meetings. THE HALO EVENTS - Tour Auto Optic 2ooo (29th April – 4th May): the 28th staging of this event that has helped establish Peter Auto’s reputation will be run over yet another new route on the most beautiful roads in France that was unveiled in December. As is the case every year a theme dealing with the motor car will be highlighted. In 2019 the subject is vanished English makes. - Chantilly Arts & Elegance Richard Mille (30th June): the event that is the brainchild of Peter Auto is now organised in the early summer every two years alternating with Le Mans Classic. It is among the three most prestigious rendezvous of its kind on the international scene. With its Concours d’Elégance, Concours d’Etat, Concours des Clubs and Art de Vivre à la Française on an elegant Sunday in the country in the Château de Chantilly domain, the 5th staging of Chantilly Arts & Elegance Richard Mille promises to be even more beautiful than ever! THE CLASSICS - Spa-Classic (17-19 May): the Belgian event created in 2011 on the drivers’ favourite circuit is now among the prime European rendezvous on the historic racing scene. - Grand Prix de l’Age d’Or (7-9 June): in 2014 Peter Auto took back the organisation of this major event in the world of historic race meetings and it has now recaptured its former glory. It has become a blue-riband rendezvous thanks in great part to its much appreciated circuit that has been totally revamped. - The Dix Mille Tours (18 -20 October): the Provençal event will celebrate its 10th staging and will bring down the curtain on the circuit racing season in a blaze of glory! THE COMEBACKS - Espίritu de Montjuïc 2018 (5-7 April): this rendezvous on Catalonian soil was held for the first time in 2018 and was a great success with both competitors and spectators. It will mark the beginning of the 2019 season of the series by Peter Auto. - Hungaroring-Classic (12-14 July): in 2017 Peter Auto organised the first Hungaroring-Classic thus confirming its vocation: namely, to give its entrants the opportunity to race on new circuits on a regular basis. In July 2019, the series by Peter Auto will be back at the Hungarian track only a few kilometres from Budapest. - Monza-Historic (20-22 September): the series by Peter Auto already visited the Monza National Autodromo, the temple of speed and tifosi, in 2015 and 2017 and this year it has returned to the calendar. The tradition, which requires the scheduling of a rendezvous in Italy home to many legendary circuits and and some of the most beautiful and prestigious sports cars in the world, will again be respected. - The Rallye des Légendes Richard Mille (29th October-2nd November): Peter Auto’s latest ambition is to see the most beautiful wonders produced by the world’s motor car industry roaring along French roads again in an exceptional rally, thus reinforcing its role in celebrating the “art de vivre à la Française” with the backing of its faithful partner, Richard Mille. The 2018 event was a big success and the next one promises some big surprises in exceptional settings. 2 3 5 - 7 APRIL RENDEZVOUS IN SPAIN The Peter Auto season will begin in Spain for the fourth year running. After Jarama, the Montmelo circuit to the north of Barcelona has been chosen to host the grids by Peter Auto for the second year on the bounce. The name of the event is a reference to the former Barcelona city circuit on the Montjuïc Mountain where the Spanish F1 Grand Prix was held from 1969 to 1975 in alternation with Jarama. Because of German driver Rolf Stommelen’s tragic accident in the 1975 race, which caused five deaths among the spectators, the F1 ruling body decided never to allow another grand prix to be held at Montjuïc. Thus, the Spanish round of the F1 World Championship took place at Jarama until 1981 followed by Jerez up till 1990. The Montmelo circuit was built in 1991 to be used during the 1992 summer Olympics that were being hosted by Barcelona. The start and finish of the cycling sprint race by teams took place on its long main straight. Above all, Montmélo has been the theatre of 28 Spanish Grands Prix since 1991. The circuit has also become the main F1 test venue because of its variety of straights and corners and its mild winter weather so all the drivers know it like the back of their hand! Since the start of the 1990s all the F1 world champions have won on this circuit (Nigel Mansell, Alain Prost, Damon Hill, Michael Schumacher, Jacques Villeneuve, Mika Häkkinen, Kimi Räikkönen, Fernando Alonso, Jenson Button, Sebastian Vettel, Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton, the last to date), which will host the 8 Peter Auto grids. The day after the traditional display under the glass dome of the Grand Palais in Paris, the entrants will set off to discover the most beautiful roads in France. Ahead of them lie around 2200 kilometres, five stopover towns, timed events on four circuits and 10 special stages before they reach the finish in Deauville. A NEW ROUTE In keeping with tradition, the 2019 Tour Auto Optic 2000 will begin on Monday 29th April with the cars on display in the Grand Palais in Paris. The next day (Tuesday 30th April) the 240 entrants will quit the French capital in the early hours of the morning to set out on the roads of France and do battle in timed events (Competition or Regularity) on 4 circuits (Dijon-Prenois, Magny-Cours, Charade, Le Mans) and 11 special stages on closed roads.
