WGTD to Air Live Radio Production of the Shadow

News release April 4, 2008 Contact: Lee Colony 262.564.2512 262.359.0798 (cell) WGTD to air live radio production of the Shadow KENOSHA – More than just the Shadow will know about “The Beggar’s Mystery” on April 12 as the WGTD Radio Theater produces a live and local version of the mysterious and invisible avenger. The theater will produce the show 11:15 a.m. April 12 live from Room 120 of the Center for Bioscience & Information Technology, 3520-30th Ave. on Gateway Technical College’s Kenosha Campus. Terry Lawler of the 91.1 Players headlines the show, playing the roles of Lamont Cranston and the Shadow. The 91.1 Players will produce the chilling story from one of old time radio’s most famous mysteries of all time. Kenosha’s own Orson Welles played the crime-fighting Shadow in 1938, a character that could speak any language, defy gravity and even become invisible with “the mysterious power to cloud men’s minds.” Other stars of the show include Vittoria DuMez, Kenosha, as the beautiful Margo Lane and Don Jensen, Kenosha, as the News Announcer. Lawler, Kenosha, will once again direct the production. Other cast members in the production include Thom Powers, Kenosha; Mark Fraser, Kenosha; Cameron Spencer, Kenosha; Byron Heusdens, Racine; Steve Brown, Salem. Brown and Michael Ullstrup adapted the script for the WGTD Radio Theater. The public is invited to become part of the studio audience. Admission is free and no tickets or reservations are needed. Food and beverages will be available at Café 91.1, a full-service coffeehouse located in the atrium of the Center for Bioscience & Information Technology. WGTD, based out of Gateway Technical College, can be heard in Kenosha/Racine at 91.1, in Elkhorn at 101.7 and in Lake Geneva at 103.3 Gateway Technical College collaborates with communities in Kenosha, Racine and Walworth counties to ensure economic growth and viability by providing education, training, leadership and technological resources to meet the challenging needs of students, employers and communities.
