Ernst of the AlamedaCounty Office of Education. Through the efforts of Mary DuFort, Alameda County Office of Education; and Oreon Kesslar, Santa ClaraCounty Office of Education, resources in Spanish andGerman were allied. Other European and Asian language.resourceswere gradually added. Through the years, current entries have been-considerablyexpanded in the Folio. Fot example, some resources designed to expand the study of the cultural aspects of the languageare-now included.- Since 1970, the preparation of the Foreign Language Foliohas,been a joint project of the County Offices of EducatiOn of Alameda,' tContra- Costa, and Santa Clara. .The,San Mateo CourttyOffice Of' Education has' also joined the project. Every two years the Folio is revised. Form s. requesting updated information are sent to groups and organizations listedin the current issue. An addition, foreign language teachersand orga- nizations are:aiked to suggest new items. To submit corrections or new items to-be considered in the next revision, pleaseyse the form which is printed on the lastpage of this issue. Some possibilities are: Having dinner at one of the many restaurants which feature foreign cuisine Touring one of the several museums.or galleries to see art from other cultures Arranging to visit the con plate or culturalCent!'" of the country whose language you are studying, or inviting the consul to visit your' school Seeing 4 movie or play in a foreign language 7 Listening to a foreign language radio brOadcast or watching a'television program You should determine the appropriateness for your students of. each activity considered. For example, the suitability of foreign langtage films, for young people varies so much that you need to preview each filNbefore arranging a gtoup visit to a theater.
