In 1999, the university changed the name to the "Warriors," due to a feeling that the Tartars name was dated. • 570 Academic All-Americans • 415 All-Americans (103 in the last 3 years) • One of 25 defining moments in NCAA history was when WSU diver Darcia Schileru was the first woman to compete in an NCAA Championship in 1973. • WSU is the only institution to turn down a bid to the NCAA Division I Basketball Championship. Revenue stream for athletics as "tickets" are purchased either per game or on a monthly basis. Comcast • Comcast Television has broadcast at least eight Warrior athletic events each school year for six of the last seven years (and the last five consecutive seasons) • Eight games televised yearly on Comcast, live throughout Michigan and Indiana Warrior Within • Quarterly news magazine DEVELOPMENT Can You Give Back One Hour? • The goal of this campaign is to ask for the average cost of in-state undergraduate tuition credit hour.
