He is in his sixth season as the show’s head writer and “Weekend Speaker Introduction Update” anchor. During the “Weekend Update” segment, James D. Spaniolo, President Meyers lampoons top news stories and entertains fan Keynote Address and Q&A favorite guests, including the outlandish city correspondent Seth Meyers Stefon. Before focusing solely on “Update,” he was a regular player in sketches and performed numerous characters. A graduate of Northwestern University, Meyers got his start in improv there as a member of the sketch group Mee-Ow. He later joined ImprovOlympic with the group Preponderate TRIVIA and performed overseas at Boom Chicago Theater in Amsterdam.
