New Business Harris County Public Health Mosquito Rebecca Riley explained that they do not spray unless they find Control -Overview and Product mosquitos with disease or after a declared emergency. They have obtained agreement for many targeted homes to participate in the study, but still need volunteer homes on specific blocks. Dr. Dugama will send us the addresses needed and we will attempt to help them in their recruitment. Bike Houston Initiatives with focus on Explained that Houston approved a bike plan in 2017. Solo Lawal, City Launcher for Nuro Focus of this deployment is on cars that deliver goods rather than personally owned cars. Currently planning deliveries for Kroger and Dominos. Piloted in Phoenix Arizona without any accidents. Their goal is to make these services cheaper and to save you time. Two additional riders are in the pilot: one to intervene if needed and the other to take notes. They are ready to go now with self- driving vehicles but are waiting until the vehicles are built. Updates/Announcements Residents have complained about long waiting times to receive a Alyce Coffey replacement can for lost or damaged receptacles. Alyce explained that we have ordered replacement cans, but the order is on backlog. For heavy trash, put your trash out on the specified day and recognize they might have to wait for 2-3 days. You can put in the service request on the next day to let the city know of the delay. Alyce also suggested that civic leaders can contact her directly if the needed response is not obtained. Patrick Fontana with Abbie Kamin’s Abbie will be holding community outreach meet and greets in all campaign for District C areas of District C.
