World No. 20 Kevin Anderson heads the 48-man draw, which includes 2015 champion Denis Istomin and runner-up Sam Querrey. Four players who’ve reached the quarter-finals or better at Wimbledon are also in action: No. 9 seed Marcos Baghdatis, No. 11 seed Vasek Pospisil, No. 14 seed Fernando Verdasco and Mikhail Youzhny. Keep an eye on 2011 champion Andreas Seppi and ’s-Hertogenbosch finalist Gilles Muller, who saved 10 match points to defeat John Isner and reach the Aegon Championships quarter-finals last week. Six of the Top 8 British players in the Emirates ATP Rankings will be looking to make a run in Nottingham, led by Aegon Championships quarter-finalist Kyle Edmund. DAY 1 PREVIEW: Four main draw singles matches will be played Sunday at the Aegon Open Nottingham. First up, 18-year-old ‘Next Generation’ star Taylor Fritz returns to the scene of his first ATP World Tour match and meets Adrian Mannarino. As a 761st-ranked wild card, Fritz debuted with a win over Pablo Carreño Busta at Nottingham in 2015. Brits Daniel Evans and Liam Broady will meet for the first time in the second match on Centre Court, followed by an All-Russian affair between Mikhail Youzhny and Teymuraz Gabashvili. Another Russian, Evgeny Donskoy, plays on Court 1 against Denis Kudla, who reached the fourth round at Wimbledon in 2015.
