Term: I Daily Lesson Plan Class: 2 Subject: Social Studies Chapter 1: Our Pakistan Time: 40 min Topic: Introduction Week: 1 (Day 1) Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of the topic, students should be able to: Learn about Pakistan, its features and symbols which makes Pakistan special. Learn about distinct symbols of Pakistan Resources: Book page number 7 Pakistan Map Colors Brainstorming: (05 minutes) Introduce the chapter to the students and with brainstorming activity write the word Pakistan on the board and ask students what they know about it? Make a word cloud using their response and write points one by one on the board. Teachers’ Exposition: (20 minutes) Introduce the topic with the students using their prior knowledge. Tell them the name of the four provinces of Pakistan. Discuss with them about the independent units that are Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan. Paste Pakistan Map on the writing board and explain students about the neighboring countries that are Iran, Afghanistan, China and India. Discuss the components of maps with the students. Explain students that Pakistan has huge population. Define the term population to them by telling them that the population is the total number of people living in an area. Class work: (10 minutes) Draw the Pakistan Map on the writing copy and label the map. Homework: Label the Map of Pakistan on student’s book page no 8. Learn about distinct symbols of Pakistan Resources: Book page number 8 Pakistan Map Colors Recap of Previous Lesson: (05 minutes) Check student’s prior knowledge by them about what they know about Pakistan? Ask them what are the neighboring countries of Pakistan? What are the provinces of Pakistan? What are the independent units of Pakistan? Teachers’ Exposition: (20 minutes) Describe students the history of Pakistan. Explain them that the Pakistan was born in 14th August 1947 Introduce the topic with the students using their prior knowledge. Tell them more about Pakistan. Explain them that Pakistan has four neighbors that are China, Iran, Afghanistan and India. Discuss with them the history of Pakistan that before partition Pakistan and India were one country. Tell them that the area where the people of Pakistan and India used to live is known as sub-continent. The Muslim people do not get the proper rights in India, so there is a need of separate homeland. Explain them all the hardship that has been faced during partition. Discuss briefly about the circumstances that Muslims faced. Class work: (10 minutes) Do the following question on the writing board: When Pakistan was born? Who was national poet of Pakistan? Ask students about these question as they had already read it in their previous Classes? Teachers’ Exposition: (20 minutes) Discuss with students about our Hero’s. Who makes their contribution in getting independence? Discuss with them about Allama Iqbal. Tell them that Allama Iqbal was the first person who saw the dream of Pakistan. Describe students about Allama Iqbal and tell them where he was born and when he was born? Discuss with them about the early education of Allama Iqbal and how he had contributed his life in getting the separate state. Ask a random student to read the text about the Allama Iqbal on student’s book page no 9. Class work: (10 minutes) Do the following question on the writing book: Who saw the dream of Pakistan? When Allama Iqbal was born? Who was the national poet of Pakistan? Homework: Write 10 lines about Allama Iqbal. Ask students to tell about what they know about Allama Iqbal, Ask them about Quaid-e-Azam, When he was born? What they know about Quaid-e-Azam? Who was the founder of Pakistan? Teachers’ Exposition: (20 minutes) Discuss with students about Quaid-e-Azam. Discuss with them he was the founder of Pakistan and he was the leader who leads all the struggle to carry out this separate state. Discuss with students about bibliography of Quaid-e-Azam? When he was born? Where he was born? Discuss with them about Quaid-e-Azam education. Discuss briefly about the role Quaid-e-Azam played in getting a separate state. Also discuss about Hafeez Jalandhari and tell students that he was our national hero. Tell students that Hafeez Jalandhari has wrote the national anthem of Pakistan which we sung now a days. Ask a random student to read the text about the Quaid-e-Azam and Hafeez Jalandhari on student’s book page no 9 & 10. (15 minutes) In pairs students will solve skill book page no. 3 Homework: Do Q. 6 of skill book page no. 5? Wrap up: (05 minutes) Conclude the lesson by asking students by discussing the answers of the students pair work and solve their queries. World Guide Social Studies 2 Page 9 of 63 Term: I Daily Lesson Plan Class: 2 Subject: Social Studies Chapter 1: Our Pakistan Time: 40 min Topic: Our Flag Week: 2 (Day 1) Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of the topic, students should be able to: Learn about our flag To make students understand or recognize the importance of our flag Resources: Book page number 10 Worksheet Pakistan flag Colors, Glue and scissors Recap of Previous Lesson: (10 minutes) Provide students with worksheet no. 2 with pair of scissors and glue and ask them to cut the flag and arrange them to form the flag of Pakistan and color it. Teachers’ Exposition: (15 minutes) Ask a random students to come on the board and draw the flag of Pakistan. Show the students a Pakistani flag and explain them that our flag is something that represents what we believe in. Describe students that Pakistan has many special symbols, a flag is a symbol of Pakistan.
