Welcome aboard, Suzanne! summer ahead for airfield construction. Pilot Highlight The first project begins Wednesday, May 15 through Friday May 24 when the Airport will close the first 1000' of runway 16R in order to install a jet fuel pipeline north of the 16R blast pad. There will 8,010' of runway available during this time. The next major project is the rehabilitation of runway 16L-34R, the small parallel runway. 16L-34R will close Monday, May 20 and be closed for two months through mid-July. During this time, the runway will be completely torn up and rebuilt. Major elements of this project include lowering the hump in the middle of the runway, significant drainage system improvements and realignment of the midfield intersections to be located at the midpoint of the runway. Additionally, the perimeter road around the north end of the runway will be lowered, which will minimize the height restriction for vehicles transiting that road. Please note that when the small parallel runway 16L- 34R closes for two months, the Airport will be down to a single runway. The Airport has worked hard to minimize this duration by only allowing the contractor a short duration for this work. Crews will work hard to complete the work in the shortest amount of time possible. If you have any questions about these projects, please contact the Airport Operations team [email protected] Scott Firefighter Stair Climb Results Regal Air's Carolyn Moeller began her path as a certified flight instructor (CFI) over 40 years ago.
