We are asking all packs to email Patti Davis davispr91@outlook. com and Michael Wells Michael.wells@scout- ing.org with their unit’s Joining Night informa- tion. Please provide your unit number, date and time of your event, the location of the event (school/church name, full address, and city) as well as a unit contact (name, phone, and email). Either a member of our district committee or a member of the district commissioner staff will be at your joining night event to help you through the process and answer any questions either you or parents may have. We will provide you the name, phone, and email of the district volunteer who will be at your event. As a reminder, start reviewing your unit’s Youth Protection Training (YPT) and PA15 clearances. If they have already expired or will before January 31, 2022, have your volun- teers start updating them now. Remember YPT is only good for 2 years and PA15 for 5 years. Unit Key 3’s and Unit Training Chairs can review the status of YPT and other training for all leaders in their respective units through their my.scouting accounts. Do you have new volunteer leaders? Refer them to the training tab on the Minsi Trails Council website for a quick guide to both online and in-person training requirements for all volunteer positions. The guide will provide you with the course number and name for all training required for your position. If in-person training is required, check the Council calendar for class schedules. Gone are the days of juggling den leader guides and other hard-copy resources. Now it’s all right there in Scoutbook! From organizing meetings for the year, to prepar- ing for the next meeting, to tracking attendance and advancement. You can even communicate with parents of absent Scouts about what their kids need to do at home to get caught up. Check out https:// www.scouting.org/landing/den-leader-experience/. Scouts BSA Leaders – Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills is scheduled for September 25th. Register on the council website. Cub Scout Leaders – BALOO training is scheduled for October 16th. Register on the council website.
