Many dynamic Close in Prayer Today'sleaders—some of whom are theMessage: most gifted leaders in Christianity—are focusingDEBORAH enormous efforts in producing results for churches throughout our nation. Billions of dollars are focused on developing churches. Highly talented young leaders are investing extraordinary energies in planting churches that will attract people to their program offerings. Each person then reads back over the passage on their own and looks for these 3 things: is to put butts in the seats and make them sticky so they’ll give!” He said this to be funny, but it was only funny because it a. A core value is to never answer a question unless you know the answer. A perfectly acceptable answer is, “I don’t disciples are making disciples, they are not disciples. Can you see that multiplication is built into the Great Commission? You’ve heard it said that if you keep doing what you’re doing, you’ll keep getting what you’re getting. I heard it this know, but let’s both look into this and see what we find out for next time.” 6. Each person should then share things they have marked with an Arrow and discuss them with the group. way, “The system you’re in is perfectly designed to get the results you’re getting.” When applied to church, the effort is about gathering a crowd on Sunday for the programs of the church. We do this in hopes that some lost people might wander into one of our services, and if they2 do, theyQuestions: might hear the Gospel, and if they do they might be convicted of their sin, and if they are, they might place their faith in Christ. This seems to me to be an incredibly inefficient system for reaching lost people! What if instead of hoping they will come into the church on a weekend, we trained and challenged every Christian to be equipped to share Jesus with the lost people in their lives? Instead of having only one disciple-maker (the speakerWhat on the stage), did Deborah do to be the Lord's Hero? everyone was equipped and challenged to make disciples of everyone in their lives that are far from God. Let’s take the average large church … Imagine that this church has 2,000 people attend their weekend services. How ANNOUNCEMENTS many lost people do you believe are in attendance on a typical weekend? Would you think 200, 100, 50? I personally believe AND… YOUTH TODAY 6-8PM: The Youth will meet at the Delaware Township Community Center for it would be closer to 50 than 200. Now don’t get me wrong. I’m totally in favor of 50, 100 or 200 people who are far from God the next 6 weeks as they complete the Bridges study. (Note: No meeting next Sunday, Feb. hearing the Gospel. But there are 2,000 Christians in attendance and each of them knows at least 10 lost people. So instead of 7th; Bridges Session # 5—Feb. 14; Bridges Session #6—Feb. 21). Isn’t that a better way to reach people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ? As I’ve cast this vision to pastors I’ve had them tell me, “But American Christians won’t share Jesus with lost people. It’s BRIDGES: CHRISTIANS CONNECTING WITH MUSLIMS TONIGHT 6-8PM: This is a fantastic course. a lost cause!” To which I answer with what Ying Kai told me, “Train everyone and the doers quickly emerge.” So pastor, what It’s still not too late to join us tonight (also Jan 31; Feb 14 & 21) at Delaware Township Community Center. This study will teach you how to share Jesus with your Muslim neighbors, you’re saying to me is that because Christians might be disobedient to the Great Commission, you are going to be disobedient friends and work associates. I’m not interested in building a church brand! I’m too old to play church! I have no desire to gather a crowd.
