Prohibits localities from adopting sanctuary policies with regard to immigration (HB2000) This legislation sends a hostile message to immigrant communities. Prohibits the release of individuals suspected of violating immigration laws (HB1468) The law could cause confusion between Virginia law enforcement and their federal counterparts, which currently work closely together regarding immigrants.
