The broadcast will take place from 2pm-4pm CT.” “Part One lets Toussaint tell his story in his own words using interviews preserved at the Archive of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation.” “Part Two includes interviews with some of Toussaint’s longtime collaborators and friends. It paints a picture of a remarkable and seemingly contradictory man, who was both soft spoken and powerful, and who was able to bring out the best in musicians.” Gambit/bestofneworleans.com: “Blake Pontchartrain: Who is ‘Infrogmation’?” January 11, 2016 “Froggy, as some people call him, asked that we not reveal his real name, preferring to protect the anonymity under which he works online. We can tell you that he has lived in New Orleans since 1977, has been a volunteer disc jockey on WWOZ since its earliest days in 1981 and hosts a weekly traditional jazz show on Monday mornings. Infrogmation also writes about jazz history.” The Advocate [Baton Rouge]/theadvocate.com: “Smiley: True grits?” Smiley Anders, January 6, 2016 “I treasure the few radio stations that still promote local and regional music — in New Orleans, WWOZ; in Acadiana, KVPI in Ville Platte, and in Baton Rouge, WBRH and KBRH, the Baton Rouge High stations. Rob Payer says the Baton Rouge stations will have a new simulcast music show starting Saturday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The great blues singer Luther Kent will host the show, ‘Luther’s House Party.’” Esquire/esquire.com: “Happy New Year, It's Going to Be a Doozy” Charles P. Pierce, January 1, 2016 “Weekly WWOZ Pick To Click: ‘Clarksdale’ (Mississippi Bigfoot): Yeah, I pretty much still love New Orleans.” Page 5 of 7 WWOZ Board of Directors General Manager’s Report January 13, 2016 12.
