It is an incredible honor to be invited to perform at this prestigious event, and it exemplifies the hard work and commitment that each of you make to our music program and to each other. I want to thank you for your commitment to excellence and your dedication to your craft. I would also like to express my deepest appreciation to the organizers of the 2017 Music for All National Festival and to the city of Indianapolis for the opportunity to showcase our Wind Ensemble, and for being such gracious hosts to the Kalani High Ohana. We believe that music is such a large part of our lives and an expression of the different cultures around the world. It enriches the quality of our school community and society in general. Music is enjoyed throughout the world and serves a general common purpose: to bring smiles to our faces and people together. I would be remiss if I did not extend my appreciation to Band Director Dennis Kaneshiro. Mr. Kaneshiro spends countless Friday – Clowes Hall – Clowes Friday hours nurturing our student musicians and he molds their individual talents into musical pieces that takes the audience on journeys through time and faraway places. Thank you also to the Kalani Band Boosters and our parents for their help and support of our music program. Bravo! Best wishes and continued success.
