The new book listed on my c.v., Meide jiaolü: Songdai shidafu shenmen sixiang yu zhuiqiu 美的焦慮:宋代士大夫 審美思想與追求 (Anxiety over beauty: aesthetic thought and pursuits of Northern Song literati) is a Chinese translation of my book The Problem of Beauty first published in 2006. The preparation of the Chinese translation took five years and involved the work of four different translators and an editor. I was involved in the production of this volume at every stage, checking the translation, making corrections and revisions, imposing consistency between the different translators, rewriting footnotes for the Chinese reader, and, finally, ensuring that the translation conformed to the house style of the Shanghai Ancient Books publisher.
