After a few pre-season games against Dumbarton and Kirriemuir we started our sectional league cup campaign with a couple of good wins against Perthshire and Ashfield, however a disappointing end to the section fol- lowed these two results by failing to beat Maryhill and Yoker, this resulted in us not qualifying for the quarter finals. The backroom staff and players are as disappointed with these results as the fans are especially as we did so well against the perceived strongest teams in the group. We started our league campaign last week with a good win away to Beith, everyone was delighted with this in light of the bad start that we had last season, so it’s to be hoped that we can push on and continue this good form. I would like to thank the players who have left the club this year and thank them for all of their effort and dedication to helping us end up where we did in the league last year, namely Darian who has moved on to senior football with Hamilton Accies also Stevie Dymock and Adam Strachan, good wishes to them all in their new clubs. I would also like to take this opportunity to welcome our new players and hope that they all enjoy their time with Clydebank FC. As you may or may not be aware of the new initiative to raise funds for the club was started in the close sea- son called the 100 Club, I myself and all of the board members have joined and I would urge you all if you can afford to do it and contribute to the clubs future. Enjoy todays game and let’s look forward to another good season - “Onwards And Upwards” Billy McGhie BUDGIE’S BIT 32 CLYDEBANK FC OFFICIAL MATCH PROGRAMME SEASON 2012 / 2013 CLYDEBANK FC OFFICIAL MATCH PROGRAMME SEASON 2012 / 2013 5 £ 1.00 www.weddellsgarage.co.uk [email protected] email 6 CLYDEBANK FC OFFICIAL MATCH PROGRAMME SEASON 2012 / 2013 CLYDEBANK FC OFFICIAL MATCH PROGRAMME SEASON 2012 / 2013 31 ‘We were all delighted for Darian who we believe was the best player Headline crap goes here 100 Club News not only in our team but in the Juniors last season. ‘ Clydebank FC Running a semi-professional team can be an expensive business - especially one in the top league of the Juniors. Some teams have input from monied investors, a social club or are perhaps resourced from the sale of assets. Clydebank FC don't have access to any of these income sources ... but we do have the backing of a loyal support - the 12th man. The Bankies have recently launched a scheme to allow fans to commit a regular sum towards maintaining the club's budget and to help to build on our successful 1st season in the Super Premier - where we punched above our weight. The scheme is called the 100 Club - and that's what we're looking for people to commit to - a minimum of £100 per season. That's £8.33 a month or around £1.92 a week. If you feel you can sign up to this - or have friends or family that wish to support the club ( or perhaps in memory of a loved one ) - then here's how to do it. Set up a standing order at the bank ( preferred method ) - Sort Code : 30-25-83 Acc No : 00472482 Acc Name : UCS FOOTBALL TRUST Ref : 100 - < put your name in here > Pay cash or a cheque made payable to CLYDEBANK FC - send to 3 McLaren Crescent, Glasgow G20 0LD or see Club Director Bill Abraham at a game If you are setting up a standing order or sending a cheque then please let us know that you're doing so - by mailing [email protected].
