From being the eastern port city of the Sichuan province it has developed to a municipality directly under the jurisdiction of the Central Government which is based on China and facing the World. With an important moment at the turn of the century, history once again pushed to Chongqing to a new starting line. Chongqing opened up a new chapter with the construction of Three Gorges Project, the establishment of the central municipality and the western development strategy. Chongqing is famous for mountains and fog, and has the typical character of a humid subtropical monsoon climate. In November, Chongqing has pleasant weather and comfortable temperatures.
