MARJORIE TOOK MOE TO A SHOW IN THE AFTERNOON AND TO ANOTHER IN THE EVENING. CAROL DID COOKING AND PREPARED MEALS. MARJORIE AND MOE WENT TO THE STORE FOR US AND GOT SOME “ARBIE’S” FOR THE NOON MEAL. I WROTE CHECKS TO PAY A COUPLE OF BILLS. MUST GET STAMPS TOMORROW 1/2 MARJORIE WAS WITH US FOR THREE MEALS, AS A VISITOR, MOE SPENT THE NIGHT WITH US. IN THE MORNING HE TOOK THE RAMBLER AND WENT OUT TO THE “BEATHKIT PLACE” ON WEST 28TH. HE WAS BACK WITH US FOR THE NOON MEAL, THEN TOOK THE RAMBLER TO CINDERELLA CITY. THE GARBAGE MEN CAME TODAY (FRIDAY) AND WE HAD EVERYTHING READY FOR THEM. 1/3 MARJORIE WAS WITH US FOR THE NOON MEAL AND SUPPER. MARJORIE AND MORRIS GOT GROCERIES FOR US. CAROL MADE SOME JELLO AND BROUGHT THE TURKEY UP TO DEFROST (CAROL SAYS MORRIS BROUGHT IT U FOR HER) MARJORIE SPENT THE NIGHT WITH US. 1/4 MARJORIE AND MOE WERE WITH US FOR SUNDAY BREAKFAST. CHARLES BROUGHT GINGER, CHASE AND MARGO IN FOR THE NOON MEAL. PREVIOUSLY, MOE AND I WENT TO CAMERON METHODIST CHURCH FOR THE MORNING SERVICE WHICH INCLUDED COMMUNION SERVICE. WE MET REVEREND HAMLYN (MORRIS FRIEND) AND TALKED TO HIM A FEW MINUTES. GINGER LEFT EARLY AND CHARLES, CHASE AND MARGO LEFT ABOUT 2:30 PM. CLEAR, WARM DAY. 1/5 MARJORIE WAS WITH US FOR 3 MEALS. CAROL PUT OUT THE WASH AND IRONED MOE’S THINGS. SKY OVERCAST DOAY, TEMPERATURE 42[degrees fahrenheit] AT 3:00 PM. HAD GOOD VISIT WITH MOE. MARJORIE STAYED THE NIGHT WITH US. 1/6 MARJORIE WAS WITH US FOR 3 MEALS. MARJORIE TOOK MOE TO THE AIRPORT ABOUT 10:30 AM. MOE CALLED FROM HERMITAGE TO SAY HE HAD ARRIVED OK. CAROL TOOK DOWN THE CHRISTMAS TREE AND THE CHRISTMAS CARDS. WE TOOK THEM DOWN TO THE BASEMENT AND PUT THEM AWAY. I MADE A CALL TO SENATOR ANDERSON. HE WILL CALL BACK. 1/7 BEAUTIFUL, CLEAR, WARM DAY, MARJORIE WAS WITH US FOR 3 MEALS. GINGER WAS WITH US FOR THE EVENING MEAL. CAROL WROTE THANK-YOU NOTES, PAID BILLS AND FIXED UP OUR CHECKBOOKS. I DISPOSED OF TRASH, CAROL TOOK ME TO THE PEARL AND JEWELL INTERSECTION AND I GOT A HAIRCUT. I WROTE LETTERS. 1/8 MARJORIE WAS WITH US FOR 3 MEALS. CAROL WENT TO THE HAIRDRESSER IN THE MORNING. I FINISHED A CHECK OF MY AREA DISCUSSION AND SENT IT BACK. I RETURNED A QUESTIONNAIRE TO THE COLORADO ASCE. I READ OVER A RESEARCH PROPOSAL FRO THE NATIONAL SCIENCE FOUNDATION. RUSS DARR CALLED ABOUT SOME PUMP DEPLETION DETAILS (MARJORIE REPORTS A RAISE IN PAY). TRASH MEN CAME TODAY. 1/9 MARJORIE WAS WITH US FOR 3 MEALS (SHE BROUGHT NEWS OF A PAY RAISE). CAROL WROTE LETTERS AND PAID BILLS. I TOOK THEM OVER TO THE MAILBOX. CAROL WENT TO THE HAIRDRESSER RAY WINGER RETIRED TODAY. I DID NOT GO TO THE FEDERAL CENTER BECAUSE OF MY LEG INJURY. 1/10 MARJORIE WAS WITH US FOR BREAKFAST AND SUPPER. CAROL AND I WENT TO EVANS SAFEWAY FOR GROCERIES. I WROTE LETTERS TO JEAN AND FAMILY AND WENT WITH THEM TO THE MAILBOX IN THE AFTERNOON. WARM, SUNNY DAY. THERE WERE SOME CLOUDS. CAROL BAKED SOME PIES AND MADE US A CABBAGE AND HAM HOCKS STEW. GORGEOUS SUNRISE THIS AM. 1/11 WARM, SUNNY, CLOUDLESS DAY. MARJORIE, CHARLES, GINGER, CHASE AND MARGO WERE WITH US FOR THE SUNDAY NOON MEAL CHARLES AND FAMILY LEFT ABOUT 2:00 PM. CAROL DID THE WASH AND CLEANED UP THE WORKSHOP ROOM. I SPENT THE DAY WORKING ON A REVIEW FOR NATIONAL SCIENCE FOUNDATION. CAROL TYPED UP THE FORM AND I MAILED IT. WARM, SUNNY DAY. 1/13 MARJORIE WAS WITH US FOR BREAKFAST AND SUPPER. CAROL DID THE IRONING AND STRAIGHTENED OUT HER RECORD BOOK. I WENT DOWN TO THE LAW LIBRARY TO GET COPIES OF TWO ENACTMENT AND TO THE CITY LIBRARY TO CONSULT SOME BOOKS ON CHEMISTRY. I WORKED ON A LETTER IN THE AFTERNOON. CLIFF JENKINS CALLED IN THE EVENING 1/14 MARJORIE WAS WITH US FOR 3 MEALS. GINGER WAS WITH US FOR SUPPER. CAROL CLEANED OUT THE BUFFET DRAWERS. CAROL FIXED A CASSEROLE FOR ME AND I WENT TO THE BARRACKS 3149 MEETING. MARJORIE TOOK WASSENNAUER AND ME TO THE VFW HALL. BILL SMITH CALLED. MARJORIE BROUGHT US A NEW “WARDS” CATALOG IN THE AFTERNOON AND SOME GARMENT PURCHASES. 1/18 CAROL AND I WERE HERE ALONE ALL THIS SUNDAY. I WENT TO THE “JACK-IN-THE-BOX” FOR HAMBURGERS. CAROL CLEANED OUT THE DESK IN THE DINING ROOM. JACQUE COCAGNE (NEIGHBOR BOY) FOUND A BROWN CREEPER AND CALLED MY ATTENTION TO IT. 1/19 MARJORIE WAS WITH US FOR 3 MEALS. CAROL PUT OUT THE WASH. AT 1:30 PM, LETTER FROM STATE ENGINEER’S OFFICE SETTING DATE FOR CLASS IN GW MOVEMENT. CAROL TOOK ME TO STATE LICENSE RENEWAL OFFICE AND RENEWED MY DRIVER’S LICENSE. (I TOLD THEM THE DOCTOR DOES NOT WISH ME TO DRIVE). CALLED DR FEAD. 1981 JAN (CONCLUDED) 1/23 MARJORIE WAS WITH US FOR BREAKFAST AND NOON MEAL. WE GOT A CALL FROM MOE. BIRTHDAY CARDS CAME FROM KATHY AND BILL BIGELOW AND FROM RUTH. CAROL AND I WENT TO THE DRUG STORE AND GROCERY STORE IN THE MORNING. WE BOUGHT GROCERIES. I NEEDED MY PRESCRIPTION FILLED, BUT THEY COULD NOT GE A HOLD OF A DOCTOR. CAROL AND I WENT BACK IN THE AFTERNOON TO GET THE PRESCRIPTION. A CALL CAME FROM DR FEAD. I WILL WRITE LETTERS TO DANIELSON ANDERSON. 1/24 MARJORIE WAS NOT WITH US TODAY. I WROTE A LETTER TO DANIELSON WITH A COPY TO FEAD. I WENT TO THE MAILBOX TO SEND LETTERS TO “HARLEQUIN” TO MOE AND TO KERRY. I MAILED A CATALOG TOMOE. JEAN CALLED, SHE AND TRACY AND KIRK SANG “HAPPY BIRTHDAY.” WARM, SUNNY, CLOUDLESS DAY.
