Ianuginosaspecies complex is found from King Sound(WA) to Wollogorang(NT) (Figurel) andconsists ofan uncertainnumber oftaxa. Morphologicalvariation within the complex is analysednumerically, using phenetic methods. Leafanatomy and ontogeny, and the taxonomic status of thefour availablenames within thecomplex (vL. B. afinis, B. evtenisifolia,B. artemisiifoliavar. wilsonii, and B. Ianuginosa)are discussed. TheB. flicifolia speciescomplex is endemicto theKimberley Region and consists offour species thatare morphologically and geographically distinct. Wheeler (1992) recognized a numberofforms withinB. Jilicifoliatncludingthe Mitchell River (and t5.pe) form and a Kalumburu form (8. kalumburuensis, seebelow). A third form, from the OsmondPlateau, is describedbelow as B. minutipinna.Boroniq pauciflorais alsoplaced in thisspecies complex (Duretto 1995; Duretto & Ladigesin prep.). Thethird speciescomplex consists ofthree rare species, B. decumbens (NT), B. jucunda (W A) and, B. tolerans(NT),that are newly described below. To completethe revisi.on of Boroniain theNorthern Tenitory and the Kimberley Region, taxa are lectotypifiedwhere necessary (including B. lanceolata)and B. rupicolais d.escribedasnew, Boronia lanceolataandB. ruprcolaare more ciosely related to eastcoastmembers ofBolonia sectionValyatae thanto otherspecies in north-westernAustralia (Duretto 1995; Duretto & Ladigesin prep.).At thefinal stagesofmanuscriptpreparation a 1995 collection (l R.C/a/ kson 1047 3) fromnorth -west Queensland, nearthe NorthernTeffitory border, came to the authors'attention. The specimen is of a previously unknowntaxon that has affinities with B, alulataBenth.of CapeYork (Durettosubmitted; Duretto & Ladigesin prep.),and so will bedescribed in a forthcomingpaper that deals with Queenslandmembers of Boroniasection Valvatae (DuretIo submitted). As thisspecies is sympatricwith B. lanceolata(in Queensland)itwilf beincludedin thekey as Boroniaaff .alulqta(NWQld, C/artro n10473). AllBoronia speciesfound in theNorthemTerritory, the Kimberley Region, and north-west Queensland are placed in section Valvatae. TheNorthern Territory and Kimberley floras are treated here as a single unit for anumberofreasons. Firstly, apart frorn B. lqnceolqtaand B. rupicola, cladisticanalysis shows that all taxa form a monophyleticgroup defined bythe following synapomorphies: the calyx being as large as or largerthan the corolla, the antesepalousanther being significantly smaller than the antepetalous anther, and the filamentshape (Duretto 1995; Duretto & Ladigesin prep.).Secondly, the boronias ofthis regionare widely separatedfrom the eastcoast, South Australian, and south-west Westem Australian members "Top of Valyatae.Thirdly, and finally, the region covering the End"ofthe Northern Tenitory and the Kimberleyregion is oftenrecognized as being a distinctbiogeographic region or a numberofclosely relatedregions; that is, regions that share arecent history (see Specht 1958b;Kikkawa & pearse1969; Hnatiuk& Pedley1985; Cowie &Finlayson 1986;Cracraft 1991;Dunlop & Webb 199l.,Crisp eta\,1995 Duretto1995; Duretto & Ladigesin prep.). The boundariesfor thesebiogeographic units, at leastfor Boronia, rotghly correspondto the boundariesofthree geological basins(as outlinedby Plumb& Derrick 1975;Plumb e/al 1980;c.S.W.A. 1990):the McArthur fuver Basin which extends liom Mtlsa(north-westQueensland)totheArnhemLand Plateauand surrounds (northem andwestemNT);the VictoriaRiverBasin, especiallythenorth-western heavilyfaulted area, which includes an area liom thewestemNorthemTeritorytotheOrdRiver(WA); and,the Kimberley Basin includingthe neighbouring King Leopold and Halls Creek orogens ormobile plates. These basins are characterized by Precambriansandstones. : Sutpnlcur),{rollueluequoNoqgoseel€utalspepueulsquoueq}uto{pslcsllocslueld.oBuerslrssoJr€ .g uolleu€AIsJoLl pue IecrSoloqdrour euos sx,ot1s osou 6nuo 1 uorteueArunlueurnpur srql qlr,r Buoly '1sadeql ur uolsnJuoccrruouoxq eulos ol ,sa^ecl pel seqsrql suudqlu€ued er{tJo ao€JJns I€txgqe aq1 uo lueserdosle sr eqtuo sJtuqJo,(lrsuop 'setlrsuap ',{l8urlsolalul .stu!//b eql qlt,t pel€louoc ,{llEnsnst qorq,r ;req3o e8uet u g sE peu\u-tapp ,npet€ld uouoerg leql pucrunluaLunput esJuds s o,ruqro snorqulSaru leqt slueld lleusgo lsrsuo, pu?.1 uequrv equo rlyou sureldpues eqtpue (errelued.ru3jo;1n9) puulsl quoN,(Uud Ituop€N npul€)) searu Mopes'qlhlpueIlrqeJthleql ur osoql s€ qcns,suoqelndodreqlo.(vzg_zzs:vno;-to;:'I6v_ggv:IBn_LLv '3 oTlatnq e) ssaualns.rrqjoseer8ep 3ur,&B^ ,{Eldstp l€q} suroj e1rye33o f1arre,,iu uruluocsuotlrlndod ,larct3 ,.ggptr fuu11 ecuenbescrloueSoluo srql ^sldsrp (LZZ ul1tDry 6>a!or14 tr>y1g1 uowlq&11 '9 '.OB9l L\t'SZ\EqtDauuax llDLlsuaH'.8VgtlaS.roaD:OOg ojptn1:OBt; dopne 3 a)sueurceds auog '( '166 derdur 1se8rp€-l ? ollelnC:S 661oltalne)app^lo/l uorlf,esJoslequroLu lorllo ul po^tesqoueeq suq 'urnlueunpul sE elellolsesuep D SurAeq se^Eel ol 'unluaunput el?llolspuu aldlllts esreds e q1r,{\sa,real 'seluel ro snorqelSuor; luorudole^opJucl ur acuenbasclloueSoluo uu seyosou8nuol oruotog '( 1ernBrg) (151) uorluls SusJoSollolA ol (V,44)punos Suty tuo.t1puo;dsepr,r puu uoruuroosr (peqrrcsu;ncrrr,{1lue.uncsu) psontnuol g 0lrq,r(066t)nrleuH:[966t q8ra] ?s33ug urpolsr l ]oul 886 I q3la1? s33ug),4rotr.eJuroLiuoNaqlo] peuguoopua'pe:e8uepua,(lqrssod'o:ereqotperoplsuo.sl.r/u(Jboruo.tog.,4.ro1rrra1ureqyo51eq1ur 'suorlJelloc crrledrufsere rsonrBnuq g puestu(/b B puuspJoco; unrJeqtaq lursa:d ruo:.p 3ul3pn1 'sauuuo,rl esoqlJouorlucr;ddu eql SurpunornsuorsnJUoc qcnusreraqJ unluaunpul esuepE seqDsout8nupl B elrq,r unluounput esludsu sBqJo snoJqulS sl .t0-Z0g stutjgbg $tltslosou!3nuo1 g wotSstullJb.g qsrnSurlsrpo1 pasn ueoq seq lpql ernl€eJur€tu eql I ur ,;oleir1sa,ru1aq1-, uo lan€g puuurpJOCpu€ slepurlC ,reqllu t{ qll^\ Bullle^€llollr.lM u,ro.lg uoqoU ,{qpetca;1oc sa.,n (,,tpuDl,{A oloorD olrsoddo puuluru ur puu 'erle1uedru3; o;1n9 equo spuplsl.urlcrlsnV 'N) s!uW g3o 1er.releur ed,{1 aqJ urlcrtsnv ulolsa,r-q ou ruol.}(rr.rorBnuDl B tepunpe u,{uoufs {llueserd) laosTral sur,ot1o1fuxwa1to g puu otlolrcrl{ .g .s1u11!Jbg peqrrcsap(g9g y) ruuqtuog '(S/61uoslr/A) lu€goptlts g sEu,f'ouT ^\ou st osout8nuol A pallEc ueaq,{lsnor, rerd peq tuql satcedsuerlerlsny u.talsalduJotso^\-qlnos eqI 'lueunfup '( .g s,uoslr/A SurueqlSue:1s urruoc s:eduos116) aso uBnuol tro 1tl,talutuod,{l eql ol Iscrluopr ,slspurlJ eJulBql ErJ€luetuEJJo.]lnD oqlJo spu€lsl oql ulo.Usueullceds tupld pelcelloc pulltone8 qll,r ,;o1e8rlse,ruJeq1,, uo se^\oq,r'u,roJB ueqod e8uroApuocas slr uo pollo^u! peq,,ro1e8r1se,,ru1 eq1,, dtqs, s:apur;g e:eq,tr pus.l uo qu.lVJolsuoc oql uo olaq, reuo s seMosoulsnuq g
