How pleased were you with how the players applied themselves in what turned out to be a comfortable win? Historically, teams who have put in so much effort and been praised from all angles after a game, have tended to drop their standards in the next match. This is mostly down to their mindset. I emphasised to the players that we cannot let this happen and I told them that we must kick on from here and get our season back on track. Thankfully the guys did that, however I thought it was going to be one of those nights as we missed several chances before we finally broke the deadlock. Rothes set their marker very early. They tried to slow the game down as much as possible and had every man behind the ball so it was a case of us moving the ball quickly to create that chance. Once we did get the first goal, Rothes had to come out more, which in turn gave us more space to exploit. We did that and went on to score six more and like you say, won comfortably. After Michael has always been a player who I have admired. We played the game I had a wee go at the players for being too slow with the Maud in a pre-season friendly this year and Mikey ran the midfield. ball. I felt we could have moved the ball quicker, and also get the This was impressive as our midfielders that day were Dean Cowie and game started quicker after the ball went out of play. We can not Jamie Masson, yet Mikey controlled the game. I look for certain afford to take our foot of the pedal and stop playing as if we do this attributes in each position and as a midfielder, Mikey ticks a lot of then we will get lazy and that can transfer in to the next game. We the boxes. He is very energetic and has a great desire. This is what have to set standards and make sure we strive to maintain these midfielders need and I know this as much as anyone. He feels like he standards at all times. I have told the guys that the day I stop getting has a point to prove so he is even more determined to do well and I on at them is the day that I can no longer offer them anything as a have no doubt he will be a fans favourite going forward. To be coach. I always want to get better and we as a team can do that. honest, he has settled in to Fraserburgh life better than I expected and from what I have seen so far, he is better than what I realised. The match at Buckie Thistle last week was marred by the injury to Hopefully he goes on to be a success which he deserves to get as he young Joe Barbour at the end but the guys rolled their sleeves up is a great lad. I must say the very best of luck to Grant Thomson who and rescued a point. How impressed were you with the overall went to Maud as part of the deal. Grant has maybe been unlucky performance and determination to get something from the match? with his Fraserburgh career where we have a lot of similar players who can play in his position, so he probably didn't get the game time I think, bearing in mind of the conditions, as a team we played very he wanted. He has been at Maud on loan and has been doing well so well. I think we dominated the game from start to finish and not a hopefully this continues going forward. Also thanks to Maud FC for lot of teams can say this about playing Buckie away. They had 3 shots the way they handled the transfer. It can never be easy losing your on goal the whole game, scoring 2, where as we had several chances captain but they saw that Michael wanted another crack at Highland to score.
