Meeting Venue and times The event will be held at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Campus Puerta de Toledo, Ronda de Toledo, 1, 28005 Madrid (see Map 1). Coming from the roundabout Puerta de Toledo, just walk through the small park and you will see the entrance to the university. Easiest would be to enter through the door on the right. Monday 7 October: 09:30 -10:00 registration and welcome coffee 10:00 – 17:30 conference (lunch at meeting venue from 13:30 – 14:30) Tuesday 8 October: 09:30 - 10:00 welcome coffee 10:00 - 13:30 conference 13:30 – 14:30 lunch at meeting venue 2. Accommodation Most of the EQAR staff and committee members are staying at hotel Puerta de Toledo. (See map 2.) Participants are invited to book their own accommodation in a hotel of their own choosing. Public Transport From Madrid Barajas airport: Unfortunately the most straightforward way to Puerto de Toledo, a local train “Cercanías is under construction, making this option very complicated with 2 extra transfers and a lot of walking. The best option currently available is by metro. There is only one metro line at the Airport: line 8 (pink). Terminal 4 is the endpoint of line 8 but also Terminal 1, 2 and 3 have a metro stop. The metro station at terminal 4 can be found at -1. Just follow the signs. Ticket machines are available and there is staff helping you out to use them. • Take line 8 and change at endpoint “Nuevos Ministerios”. • Take line 10 (blue) in direction of Puerta del Sur and exit at Alonso Martínez. • Take line 5 (green) in direction of Casa de Campo and exit at: - Puerta de Toledo to go to the conference venue and for both Hotel Gavinet and Hotel Puerto de Toledo (see map 1). - Pirámides for Hotel Holiday Inn Pirámides (see map 1). From Puerta de Toledo to Madrid Barajas airport: • Take Line 5 (green) in direction of Alameda de Osuna and exit at Alonso Martínez. • Take line 10 (blue) in direction of Hospital Infante Sofía and change at Nuevos Ministerios. • Take line 8 (pink) to airport. Taxis: From the airport there are taxis with a fixed rate of 30 EUR. Make sure to go only to the official stop at the main exit of all terminals; the taxis are visible and clearly marked. Uber and Cabify are also available in Madrid. Practical Information 4. Next to the Reina Sofia museum (back entrance). (See map 3) Please note that entrance to the museum is free on Monday night from 19:00 onwards! The Reina Sofia is Spain's national museum of 20th-century art, showing, amongst others, the famous “Guernica” by Picasso. 5.
