AABBOOUUTT MMEE:: About Me: Angus_AC89ZX / RLS89ZX (b1989-) The name is Angus_AC89ZX/RLS89ZX/RLS777 (Real Name is Robert Smith, but to avoid confusion w/ the famous goth rock singer of "The Cure" fame of the same name, I decide to have my own pen/art/codename, so people wont have to confuse me with all the other Robert Smiths in western world. Believe me, its a very popular name for guys in the English speaking Western world.) I am the maker of this zine called "Whirl Fang," a most excellent fanzine for Escapism, Enlightenment, and just having a blazing ball of fun. I also want to make Indie Libre SciFi/Fantasy movies, along w/ manga-like comix, tabletop roleplaying games, skirmish wargames, solo gaming stuff, random goodies, etc. I have Autism, ADHD, OCD, and Sensory Integration Dysfunction, and I'm also a Left- Libertarian/Mutualist/Individualist Anarchist, Agnostic/Panthiest/Deist, & Secular/Non-Traditional Pro-Life Weeaboo from the American Pacific Northwest, where I righthfully belong. I am big into video games, movies (especially SciFi/Fantasy ones with rebellious outlaw heroes that triumph against oppressive elite empires), Japanese Anime(cartoons)/Manga(comix), roleplaying games (both video game & tabletop forms), tabletop skirmish wargaming, solo gaming, the DIY ethic, Free/Libre & Open Source Technology and Arts, and of course my most favorite thing in the world, CATS! Sample file TThhee DDaawwnn ooff WWhhiirrll FFaanngg Wriitten & Presented by RLS89ZX Hello there, most amazing readers. Feel welcome to learn, read, and enter into the odd, but most excellent world of the zine. So many people are so fascinated with these “so-called” zines. Since there will be some random newcomers out there who will ask themselves this obvious question, “what are zines?” The best way to answer this question, a zine is simply an “alternative” magazine published outside mainstream publishing, and these can be done independently as a hobby that can become your job someday. To tell you the truth, zines are self-published magazines of the amateur-press industry/DIY society. The coolest thing about zines is that they can be of any size, page length, and also even cover pretty much any topic(s) of your interest if that is your true desire. As a brief example, This upcoming brave new zine will cover an excellent variety of “fun” topics that will blow you away involving imagination, creativity, entertainment, and of course, hobbies,a bunch of all this above, basically, including special topics just for individual issues. Thus, this zine will feature a series of episodic short stories featuring my own original work along with adaptions of classical literature in the public domain such as the classic fairy tales, Mythology, retellings of wonderful novels of the 19th Century (from classic writers such as H.G. Wells, Lewis Carrol, Jules Verne, Robert Louis Stevenson etc.) plus some 20th century era literature (from that century's authors like Frank Balm, Edgar Rice Burroughs, H.P. Lovecraft, Philip K. Dick, etc.) as well as long as these stories fall under either Science fiction, fantasy, fairy tales, or mythology. Every episode for each of these original “episodic” novellas + retellings of the classics will be presented with style. Besides some literature, this zine will cover various hobbies and activities such as tabletop roleplaying games, tabletop war games, and even retro video games. To let you readers know, most of the video games, RPGs (roleplaying games), war games, and other soon to be discussed topics will have more homebrew/indie/doujin games and stuff covered than the mainstream material. The reason why is because you can get a fresh idea for free and affordable alternatives since that homemade fun can have some pretty big advantages over the mainstream aisle of entertainment.
