2/3 inorganic matter •Organic matter:collagen, glycosaminoglycans, proteoglycans, glycoproteins (made by osteoblasts) •Inorganic matter:85% hydroxyapatite;10% calcium carbonate • Other minerals (fluoride, potassium, magnesium) • Combination: strength/resilience;
