Basic information Date The first day of the Year of the Horse, i.e. 31 January 2014 (Friday) Time 8:00pm to 9:45pm (The spectator stands at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza will be open to ticket holders from 7:00pm) Opening Ceremony The Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza, Tsim Sha Tsui Location Parade Route • Starts at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza, proceeds along Canton Road and Haiphong Road, turns right on Nathan Road, proceeds along Salisbury Road, and ends outside the Sheraton Hong Kong Hotel & Towers • TTTwoTwowowo vantage points along the parade route: - Zone 1: The Canton Road pedestrian walkways outside Harbour City/The Sun Arcade - Zone 2: The Junction of Nathan Road and Peking Road/Middle Road pedestrian walkways, in front of Chungking Mansions 2.2.2. Highlights This year marks the 19 th staging of the International Chinese New Year Night Parade. Highlights include: o 34 floats and performing troupes The floats and performing troupes in the procession come from 15 countries/regions: Australia, China, France, Hong Kong, Ireland, Japan, Korea, Macau, the Netherlands, Singapore, Spain, Trinidad, Barbados, St. Lucia and the USA. There are a total of: - 11131333 floatsfloats, one of which is joining the parade for the first time. - 101010 international performing groupsgroups, eight of which are first-timers, including the team from Barbados, St Lucia and Trinidad; and - 111111 local performing groupsgroups, three of which are first-timers. o Roving performers to perform prior to the night parade 1 Prior to the night parade, from 7:00pm, spectators can take part in a street party along the parade route, featuring enhanced sound and light effects and performances by six local groups, including a bike parade, a marching band, African drumming and different dances. 3.3.3. Spectator stands and ticketing aarrangementsrrangements o Approximately 2,700 seats are available in the spectator stands at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza. o Tickets for the spectator stands at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza are available at HK$400, $350 and $300. Half-price concessionary tickets are available for Hong Kong senior residents aged 65 or above and children aged three to 11 (concessionary ticket holders must produce evidence of their identity or age upon admission). o Tickets will go on sale from 8:00am on Saturday, 25 January 2014 at the HKTB Tsim Sha Tsui Visitor Centre (Star Ferry Concourse). Each person can purchase a maximum of four tickets per transactiontransaction. Tickets are available on a firstfirst----come,come, firstfirst----servedserved basis. 4.4.4. Live bbroadcastroadcast o The event will be broadcast live on the Jade and HD Jade channels of Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB) between 8:00pm and 9:45pm. 555.5. Float dddisplaydisplay (free admission) o From 1 to 16 February, various floats from the night parade will be on display in Lam Tsuen Wishing Square, Tai Po. 666.6. Performances by international performing ggroupsroups (free admission) o On 1 and 2 February, a number of the international performing groups from the night parade will perform at Lam Tsuen Wishing Square and various hotspots, including ELEMENTS, Maritime Square, Metro City Plaza, PopCorn, Telford Plaza and Pak Shek Kok Waterfront Promenade.
