A horrible start as First Capital Connect went AWOL for the morning. The leader arrived late after his train was cancelled, and four riders were stuck in a train outside Bowes Park for nearly an hour. When we got together, we decided to abandon the original ride. Instead we repeated a ride from last November, through East Finchley, Hampstead Garden Suburb and Totteridge to Barnet. At Barnet we stopped at the Sebright Arms, only to discover the garden was out of action for refurbishment. But although the pub was busy inside for Fathers' Day we were made welcome and received excellent service and food. Afterwards, back across Hadley common to New Barnet, where Les took over to lead back to Palmers Green. Peter M, Les (leaders), Dave, Denise, Michèle, Maz, Pat, Graham. No Grabostats, as Graham had forgotten to recharge the battery, but probably around 20 miles. Tuesday 19 June. Evening ride and pub supper.
