Plan Change 38 – Changes to Appendix 11A: Schedule of Building, Objects and Places of Heritage Significance (North Shore Section of the Auckland Council District Plan) Summary of decisions requested Note: The texts in italics are for clarification purpose only. Proposed Plan Change 38 has been partially withdrawn. Please refer to the public notice for further details of the partial withdrawal. The publicly notified plan change included the following four distinct parts: a. Addition of 86 new items for protection b. Deletion of 99 currently scheduled items c. Changing the category of 44 currently scheduled items d. Making other changes to 74 currently scheduled items Among the four parts above only the proposed additions of new items (“a” above) are progressed, and the rest (“b”, “c” and “d” above) have been withdrawn. Those submissions that are “within scope” of the plan change after partial withdrawal are summarised in Table A. Further submissions can only be made on those summary of decisions requested listed in Table A. Those submissions received on the withdrawn parts are “outside scope” and are summarised in Table B. Welsford Family Addition Building list. Trust 5.1 It is noted that the Stanley Bowling & Petanque Club at 20 Stanely Point Rd is William George Hughes Addition to be proposed Heritage Category (B). We the committee wish to register our interest in the above designation. Understood as – the Committee is concerned about the restrictions to make changes to the Bowling Club in the future due to the proposed scheduling. 7.1 Accept the plan change. (understood as support the proposed addition of Peter Joseph Matthews Addition 1019 Beach Road, Torbay) 7.2 The correct date of construction is 1926, as evidenced by the attached Peter Joseph Matthews Addition historical documents concerning purchase and construction. 8.1 Whilst this house is my original family home (and may have some Nocholas Patrick Addition architectural and historical significance) I wish to oppose the addition of this Duggan property to the Schedule of Buildings, Objects and Places of Heritage Significance. (Understood as oppose the proposed addition of 58 Forrest Hill Road, Forrest Hill) 14.1 Decline the plan change. I wish to have the provisions identified above Christopher James Addition deleted. (understood as oppose the proposed addition of 21 William Street, Reeve Takapuna) 19.1 Remove Winstone Holiday Cottage, 5 Ringwood Street, Torbay from the Peter and Jan Hay Addition proposed new items for addition to Appendix 11A, and ID 513 from DP map 8. 20.1 Decline the plan change. (understood as oppose the proposed addition of Donald Ross Melville Addition item 551 at 360 Lake Road, Takapuna) 21.1 That draft plan change be amended to include “Hammer and Sicle” residential Wyn Hoadley n/a1 housing / area on the Register (Belmont area, North Shore). 22.1 The “changing (rooms) shed” at 25 William Street, Takapuna be removed PF & JM Menzies Addition from the list of items for scheduling under PC 38. 23.1 Delete the house at 6 Awanui St from Appendix 11A The Schedule of Samuel Peter and Unchanged Buildings of Heritage Significance. Thelma Joan Money 24.1 Remove the St George’s Lounge / Hall complex from the heritage A St George’s Addition classification. Presbyterian Church, Takapuna The Church (St George’s) endorses the appropriateness of the recommended A classification for the church building itself, excluding the lounge/hall complex. 24.2 Remove the St George’s Presbyterian Manse from the heritage B St George’s Addition classification. Presbyterian Church, Takapuna The Church submits that the manse should not have any heritage classification. 27.1 The CBR & RA supports the recognition of this building’s significance. Castor Bay Ratepayers’ Addition (Understood as support the proposed addition of 139 Beach Road, Castor and Residents’ Bay) Association 28.1 The Corporation wishes that the Council re-consider the classification of the Housing New Zealand Addition property (at 139 Beach Road, Castor Bay) and that it either be removed or Corporation downgraded to a “Category B” rather than considered as a “Category A”. 29.01 The listing of Fort Takapuna is unclear about exactly what is covered. Limited 35.1 That the Council confirm the retention of classifications on the properties and Bayswater Community n/a additions in Bayswater / Belmont to section 11 Cultural Heritage as outlined in Committee Inc. Plan Change 38. 36.1 Give full protection to the Masonic Tavern at 29 King Edward Parade, Gillian Margaret Werry Unchanged Devonport (# 278 on schedule). 37.1 Introduce Historic Heritage Precinct to protect Victoria Road.
