Overlord, Vol. 5 (light novel) | Kugane Maruyama Book | Buy Now | at Mighty Ape NZ Thanks for the Overlord: (Novel) Vol. 5 No Ainz action today but there was a lot of background and stage setting, which is nice I feel like Ainz is up Overlord: (Novel) Vol. 5 something in the capital now, since Overlord: (Novel) Vol. 5 was there. Can't wait for the rest of the novel Another chapter today? Is this Heaven? Or what? Thank you for your hard work in translating this for us, more chapters can't come soon enough. I really like these kind of "side stories". Sometimes it nice to see how others are living their lives instead of just the MC. I also really like Brian the one who shalltear beat and gazeoff's rival. Hopefully he becomes strong later on. I want him to be able to beat Shalltear although its probably never going to happen. To beat Shalltear, he'd have to be at levelcapable of using class 10 magic, and be outfitted in at least 1 world class item, with the rest of his equipment being the next highest rank. Absolutely wrong What kind of illusion is that? There are definitely many people who don't read every single word of the novel like me lol XP. I don't think side-stories are good or bad, but the way this chapter was written Overlord: (Novel) Vol. 5 simply horrible. I skipped most of it. We get so much captain-obvious information that it's sad, there's so much hamburger-narrative to the point I scream out: "Who is the narrative talking to!? Why is it lecturing me about everything!? Thanks so very much for all your hard work!! Interested to see Overlord: (Novel) Vol. 5 the humans will be enfolded into Nazarick!!! That's no filler actually, I find it really useful for the story since it concerns the Kingdom. The first and second part of the lizard thing was more or less useless but entertaining imhobut this part obvisously isn't at all. Knowing about the Kingdom is unavoidable, and a complex world, deep, is a good thing. Most of the information in this chapter is utterly redundant and was told in an insanely annoying manner. The narrative in this chapter focuses on lecturing and info-dumping, rather telling an actual story. For an instance, in the fight between Climb and Stranoff -- the lecturing narrative explains so much as they fight, to the point it seems like the two of them freeze in place for 5 minutes without doing anything. It was a real pain to read this chapter, I hope the author will stop Overlord: (Novel) Vol. 5 with trying to explain every single little fucking thing. And I hope he never stops. If you want empty action with no plot, go read bleach or something of that type and don't bother people, who actually likes to read words. This feels a lot like the previous volume. Spend an entire chapter on that lizard guy, have Ainz massacre his tribe, and then eventually become Ainz's subordinate. Overlord: (Novel) Vol. 5 honestly didn't like that the story should stick with the main characters not branch off so much otherwise it sucks, not to speak bad of it but last volume was terrible compared with the first 2 and this start is not looking good to me. Despite this I hope it won't turn into another lizardman chapter and we get to see everyone at Nazrick and Ainz. I totally agree with Olen. Also, these side stories show different levels of interaction between characters and how the world works. Like how the author portray loyalty. All in all, it adds more depth to the world and makes me see a bigger picture than when they focus on MC's POV. The problem Overlord: (Novel) Vol. 5 switching view points early on is that unless its done well we don't get the time to connect with any of the main characters. Other Overlord: (Novel) Vol. 5 would spend 1 or 2 volumes fleshing out Overlord: (Novel) Vol. 5 main cast so that the reader would actually care about them but imo Overlord switched way too early so we feel disconnected from Aniz and co to the point where I wouldn't care if they died. I sort of think that the author is doing this on purpose so that they can make Aniz lose in the end but we'll see Sup, so I'm like the fifth anon here ; Ill call myself Raffle So Raffle sees that the author likes making lots of small stories into his big story. Its like the story is fractured into smaller bubbles, Witch are made into smaller bubbles. It feels like Raffle is reading Overlord: (Novel) Vol. 5 collection of short Overlord: (Novel) Vol. 5. About this nobles and loner pro knight, Raffle would belive more that this knight would isolate himself from the noble knights because of his own preconceptions Just like our glorious Ainz Ooal Gown With his "enemies" but that's not what is written here :P, perhaps this would make it overly complicate and intricate for the side story that't 4 times removed. I feel like Climb has mastered the first step of his fighting style, the first strike and could eventually surpass Stronoff, By mastering the second third and fourth step. But than again if the author made Stronoff say that he has no talet it could be Stronoffs naivety or a choice of the authors. Thanks for your hard work. I guess this volume will be about the kingdom's royal family.
