It also wants to enhance cooperation between European universities. Its English translations often appear in cooperation with Ameri‐ can academic publishers like “Academic Press of the USA”. The European University Press emerged in 2003 from the University Press Bochum, a spin‐off from the Ruhr University Bochum/Germany in 1999. Since the University Press Bochum received more and more manuscripts from other European University Presses, it was split into a Press publishing only academic work of Ruhr University Bochum/Germany (in 2015 renamed into West German University Press) as well as a press publishing books related to various Universities in Europe (European University Press). To become a real “European University Press”, several universities from all over Europe submit‐ ted their agreement and support to the registrating court, which decided that the “European University Press”, serving among others the “Central European University” in Budapest, Hungary, came into existence.
