David Carter Senior Vice President, Engineering Pratt & Whitney Dave

David Carter Senior Vice President, Engineering Pratt & Whitney Dave Carter is senior vice president of Engineering at Pratt & Whitney. He is responsible for leading the company’s global engineering organization, with a focus on delivering customer requirements, advancing market-differentiating technologies, leading continuous improvement and developing technical leadership. Dave has over 30 years of engineering, program management and general management experience in the aerospace industry. Most recently, he was senior vice president of Engineering, Operations and Quality for UTC Aerospace Systems (UTAS). He previously served as vice president, Engineering for UTAS; as vice president, Engineering & Technology, for UTAS’s Aircraft Systems segment and as vice president, Engineering & Technology, at Hamilton Sundstrand before integration with Goodrich Corp. in 2012. Prior to joining Hamilton Sundstrand, Dave spent more than 20 years at Pratt & Whitney holding positions of increasing responsibility, most recently serving as vice president, Engineering-Module Centers. In this role he was responsible for the Module Center engineering function, as well as driving key organizational engineering initiatives. Dave received the 2009 University of Connecticut’s Distinguished Engineering Service Award, which recognizes engineering leaders for their efforts in helping UConn’s School of Engineering achieve its goals. He holds two patents and both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Virginia. Pratt & Whitney is a world leader in the design, manufacture and service of aircraft engines and auxiliary power units.
