This they did under the name of Sigma Beta Sigma. Over a period of years they took great pride in the student association. We felt that it was the out standing organization on the campus, and that it made many important contributions to the entire col lege community, in addition to the excellent effect it had on its own members. During the past year we have attended several meetings of Sigma Beta Sigma, at which time the subject of petitioning for a chapter of Delta Sigma Pi was dis cussed. We were highly pleased with the endeavors of the group to go national, and when our opinion was solicited on this point we quite naturally encouraged this movement. As administrators of the Business Division we, there are write this letter in of fore , glad to support their petition to become a chapter of Delta Sigma Pi. We feel that the students will have a very represented chapter of your organization. KJooseph A. Buff, Chairman C. R. Haynes, Asst. Chairman JAB:ht SIENA COLLEGE LoudonviJJe, New York 12211 Business Division November 5 , 1970 Grand Council International Fraternity of Delta Sigma Pi 330 South Campus Avenue Oxford, Ohio 45056 Gentlemen : For many years, many of the business division students of Siena College have been members of Sigma Beta Sigma, a local college organization to promote extra curricular activities concerning practical interests for the busi ness students. This society has been very active and beneficial to the students of Siena in providing good fellowship and education for them. It has worked with territorial businesses in doing research, in securing lecturers, and in promoting good business relations be'tween students and practice. Recently the students have shown interest in your National Fraternity and have met with your representa tive concerning such interest. They are very concerned with the fine organization of Delta Sigma Pi. They believe there are many fine advantages and benefits which they can obtain by belonging to such an organiz ation. They also believe they can contribute to your fraternity. I am sure you will find the students of the business division of Siena a very fine group who will feel honored to become members of your National Fraternity by forming a chapter at Siena. May I recommend and present to you the local business society of Siena for possible accept ance into your National Fraternity since I feel our students are an outstanding group to belong to an outstanding fraternity. I am completely in accord with their decision on this matter and recommend that their application to the National Fraternity be acted on favorably. The prestige associated with such affiliation should enhance considerably a sustained interest on the part of the student members. From my own personal experience with students on this campus over the past 25 years, I cannot recall any group displaying the enthusiasm and willingness to work as has been associated with the present organization.
