Aims:Toidentifythecommonestsiteofimpactionofforeignbodyinupperdigestivetractandthenstudythe causativeanatomicalfactorsleadingtothis MethodsandMaterial:AetrospectivestudyconductedinthedepartmentofOtorhinolaryngologyincluding previousrecordsfrom2014onwardsintertiarycarehospitalofcentralIndia.Atotalof10patientsofdigestive tractforeignbodyweretakenandcategoriedaccordingtoage,sex,siteofimpactionandtypeofforeignbody. Results:TheforemostsiteofforeignbodyimpactionisatUpperesophagealsphincterfollowedbyupper1/rd ofesophagusandcommonestagegroupis1-4years. Conclusions:Swallowingisnotascoordinatedandsuccessfulasinplannedintakeofbolusoffood.Thisclearly affectstheopeningofUESleadingtoimpactionoftheforeignbodyatthiscommonestsitefollowedbyupper 1/rdofesophagusandpiriformfossathereafter.
