Both programmes are offered by the International Business Centre (www.ibc.aau.dk) at the Department of Business and Management of Aalborg University. The programs are designed to strengthen our students’ abilities in identifying and solving real business problems by applying theories and models in international business economics and international marketing to practical business situations. Students’ problem- solving abilities are further enhanced through internship programs in foreign companies and/or institutions. We grant admission to students from more than 30 different nationalities, which can be a valuable source of new insight and knowledge for your organization. This Student Profile Brochure gives you an insight into our methods of teaching, the competencies of our students, and the possible contributions that they could make to your company or institution. The personal profiles of full-time students enrolled in the two Master’s programmes in September 201 are also presented herein. We give admission to students from more than 30 different countries each year. The program aims at developing students’ competencies in the following areas: z Analysis and evaluation of companies’ opportunities in the global market. z Analysis of economic, social, and cultural aspects of international business management. z Leadership and international human resource management. z Formulation of international business strategies. Students take the following core courses during their first and second semesters: Courses ECTS Globalization and the Internationalization of Companies in a Value Chain Perpective 7 E-Business 8 Business Research Methods 5 Internationel Business in a Theoretical and Methodological Perspective 10 Inter-cultural Manegement, Leadership and International Human Resource 7 Management Transnational Business Strategies in a Legal and Financial Perspective 8 International Business in a Analytical and Strategic Perspective 15 During the 3rd semester, our students are required to conduct an internship in a foreign company/institution. The internship has the following objectives: z To strengthen students’ abilities to apply theories/models in solving specific organizational problems z To further improve their language skills z To acquire skills in living and working in new organizations and cultures Students write a thesis on a topic of their choice during the 4th semester. The thesis demonstrates each student’s ability to investigate complex theoretical and/or practical issues in international business. 2 ii MSc in International Marketing The MSc in International Marketing is a two-year program. We give admission to about 40 students from 15 different countries each year. The program aims at developing students’ competencies in the following areas: z Analysis and evaluation of companies’ market opportunities in the global business environment. z Developing models and tools that improve executives’ international marketing decisions. z Formulating strategies that help companies to achieve their international marketing objectives. My main tasks where related to client service, booking and pre-arrival procedures to front desk reception and tending to the needs of the arrived clients. I was also in charge of the marketing aspect: social media page maintenance, content creation, publicity campaigns and tourism site account management. February 2014 – August 2014 Living Hope Foundation Romania I held the position of project manager in this non-profit organization. The objective of the project that I ran was to help people in underdeveloped parts of the country sustain themselves through agriculture. My main activities where communicating with the people that where being help and with the people sponsoring the initiative, gathering information, setting up the framework in which a collective would work, finding out a good outlet for the products and other management activities. Career objectives To obtain an analyst position in the marketing department of a large organization. Preferably in the entertainment industry and with a young and ambitious staff and management that challenge you permanently and help you become a better professional.
