As a designated Teaching School we are a National Support School headed up by Victoria Bishop, a National Leader of Education (NLE). In addition to the support we offer from our NLE, our designated Specialist leaders of Education (SLE) provide support to schools across Northamptonshire and surrounding counties. As an active part of the self- improving school system, where the sharing of skills and knowledge takes place, we have the aim of improving the quality of education that all young people receive. Our SLEs all have experience of working to raise standards both in their own schools and beyond. The application and designation process ensures that they strictly meet the designation requirements with Senior Leaders and independent members on the interviewing board. This guide gives you information about the NLE and our SLEs, their backgrounds and their areas of specialism. It also gives you information on how to apply to get support for your school, the costs involved and the support you would expect to receive. This guide also briefly explains how to become an SLE if you are personally interested in applying for the role when the next application window opens. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like additional information, or for an informal chat about the support we could offer to your school.
