Fédération Internationale de Volleyball [email protected] Telephone +41.21.345.3535 FACT SHEET – $10,000 FIVB Ljubljana One Star Ljubljana, Slovenia, August 3-5, 2018 Updated on July 29, 2018, this fact sheet provides information on the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball and the 2018 FIVB Beach Volleyball calendar. The 2018 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour continues with the starred classification of its events, with three five-star events, all of which are the Major Series, nine four-star events, six three- star events, seven two-star events, and 22 one-star events, along with the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Finals. One FIVB Age Group World Championships for players under the age of 19 will also be held. The 2018 World Tour began in September of 2017 in France and concludes in August in Germany. 2018 marks the 32nd anniversary of the first FIVB Beach Volleyball event held February 17-22, 1987 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Four events played in 2017: France (Montpellier), China (Qinzhou), Netherlands (Aalsmeer), and Australia (Sydney), are part of the 2018 FIVB World Tour. Four events held in August-October, 2018 in Hungary (Siofok), France (Montpellier), and China (Qinzhou and Yangzhou) will be part of the 2019 FIVB World Tour. · The double-gender $10,000 FIVB Ljubljana One Star is the 40th men’s and the 41st women’s event on the 2018 FIVB World Tour. In conjunction with the CEV, the FIVB visits Slovenia for the first time. The CEV played a double-gender masters event in Ljubljana in 2017. For more information regarding the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour, please visit fivb.com. · August 3-5, Ljubljana, Slovenia, Men and Women, $10,000 – This is the first time that Slovenia has hosted an FIVB World Tour Event. The qualification matches will be held at the Sports Park Ludus Crnuce and the main draw will be held in Congress Square in Ljubljana. · The FIVB Ljubljana One Star starts August 3 and concludes August 5.
