Research materials for this catalog were provided by the American Quarter Horse Association and/or the Jockey Club Information Service as of September 1, 2015 and includes racing results and performance information on file as of that date. In some cases, races run immediately preceding the above date are not included due to the normal data processing time interval. Due to the limitation of time and space, the information contained on the catalog page regarding any individual is merely a synopsis of that animal’s pedigree, family, and race record, and is presented herein based on traditional cataloging standards as representational of that individual. In addition, this catalog includes some information not normally provided under traditional cataloging standards for Quarter Horses, as well as performance of thoroughbreds that is at variance with the cataloging standards approved by the North American Subcommittee of the International Cataloging Standards Committee. These additions, illuminations, and variations include: ABOUT THE CATALOG 1. Stakes Qualifying: Horses that are finalist in Graded Stakes Races as designated by the American Quarter Horse Association but failed to finish first, second or third are, when space permits, noted so with reference to the name and grade of the stakes race, in the form of (Fnl All American F.-G1), if a horse qualified for a stakes race, but was unable to compete in the finals for what ever reason, will be noted so as (Qlf. All American F.-G1). 2. Thoroughbred Black Type: Stakes races run after January 1, 1986 with added-money of less than $15,000 are not granted “black-type” in those Thoroughbred catalogs conforming the rules of the International Cataloging Standards Committee. That value was raised to $20,000 on January 1, 1989, and to $25,000 on January 1, 1990. In 1985 only, those races were designated with an “-N” following the race name. For the purposes of this Quarter Horse catalog, however, Thoroughbred that finished first, second or third in a stakes race, regardless of the added-money value, have been granted black-type. Races with a value of more than $50,000- added are designated “-L”, while raced with an added-money value of from $15,000 to $50,000 are designated “-O”. The “-O” designation was dropped after 1985. 3. Graded Stakes: The American Quarter Horse Association has since 1982 granted a small number of the most prestigious and valuable races the designation Graded Stakes Race, and appended the appropriate notion to the name of the race. The highest level of Graded Stakes Race is signified by “-G1” following the race name, the second level “-G2”, and the third level “-G3”. Grading of races was not retroactive, therefore no such designation appears on those races prior to 1982. 4. Restricted Races: Stakes races restricted to runners defined by the conditions of the race (i.e. state-bred races, stallion progeny races, races sponsored by auction companies) are designated by the American Quarter Horse Association and The Jockey Club with an “-R” following the race name. ABOUT THE CATALOG 5. Track Records: Horses that have established a new track or course record, or equaled an existing track or course record, have the notation Ntr (New Track Record), Ncr (New Course Record), Etr (Equaled Track Record), or Ecr (Equaled Course Record), followed by in most cases the three-letter designation for the race track and the distance. Course records refer to turf courses. Information as to races, race results and/or earnings by Quarter Horses was obtained from result charts published by the Racing Department of the American Quarter Horse Association, copyright owner of said charts. Information as to races, race results and/or earnings by Thoroughbred horses was obtained from results charts published by The Daily Racing Form, copyright the American Quarter Horse Association and The Jockey Club.
