Born Sunday, May 12, 1968 (Mother’s Day) in New York. Bapzed five days later at St. Vincent’s Catholic Church in Manhaan and Adopted September 10th that same year at 4 months old. I don’t recall ever being sat down and told by my parents, “We have something to tell you . You’re adopted”. There never was that big moment most people expect. I have been asked many mes, “When did your parents tell you?” The fact s, I always knew. From the very beginning, my mother always shared with me the joyous story of the day she received “THE CALL”, saying I was here if they were ready to meet me. Within days, they tell me they planned for my arrival. When they brought me home, the big Italian family was there to greet me outside. Every aunt, uncle and cousin welcomed me lovingly with gi s and open arms. My cousins became my “brothers and sisters” and to this day there is a special bond between all of us that is undeniable as we have spent our lives sharing holidays and summer vacaons together, even once we were grown. I have never felt “adopted”, I have always simply felt the love and loyalty of being a part of a big family with beauful tradions. As I aged and would look in the mirror at myself, the one queson that I wanted to know was simply, “Why do I look the way I look”. The only way to know the answer to this was to find my biological parents. My parents always, from the very beginning offered to assist me in finding them. However, I personally felt it would be so hurul to them.
