The development of children can be much better if it is under appreciation, encouragement, and respect. Success is not only measured by academic performance but also through their multiple potentialities so as to enhance their self-esteem that leads to further success. School Management Organisation: We practise school-based management involving the school supervisor, members of school board, principal, parents, alumni and teachers. The efficiency of school management as well as leadership was acknowledged in the recent External School Review. Management work is led by the principal, vice principals and assistant principals organizing the work of several administrative clusters concerning Teaching and Learning, Discipline and Counseling, Extra-curricular Activities, Career Guidance, Buddhist Education, Information and Technology, Students Other Learning Experiences and Civic Education etc. Incorporated Management Committee / School Management Committee / Management Committee: Founded in July, 2009 School Green Policy: Our Civil Education team is responsible for conveying messages about protecting our environment. During assembly lessons, we invite different environmental NGOs to give talks to our students and workshops are arranged as extra curricular activities. Students will then obtain knowledge about the most recent environmental protection issues. Also, we organise voluntary services for students to experience and make contributions to the society about related topics. Knowledge concerning environmental protection is included in the syllabuses of some academic subjects like Integrated Science and Liberal Studies. Learning and Teaching Plan Whole-school Language Policy: In order to enhance the English proficiency of our students, we hire a full-time NET. Besides, there are teaching assistants helping students with listening and speaking skills. We organize reading scheme and writing workshop to promote the reading and writing skills of students. What is more, some students are recommended to sit for international English assessments such as Cambridge English, TOEIC and IELTS. In spite of adopting Chinese as our teaching medium, we arrange English language extension activities in 6 subjects. Learning and Teaching Strategies: We emphasize the enhancement of language proficiency and mastery of IT. Another focus of the school is to cultivate students to abide the rules and take up responsibilities. Creativity is certainly encouraged in the campus. Teachers discipline students with love and are under the mission of differentiating the curriculum in order to suit students’ needs as well as cater for learning diversity. For some subjects, textbooks are tailor-made by teachers so as to integrate appropriate materials for our students. We place emphasis on the learning process rather than results. This aims at helping students to learn, make progress, develop good values and attitudes and ultimately pursue excellence. In different levels, we set different attainment standards. For those who fail to meet the standards, tutorials are provided. Moreover, S.1 and S.2 students can stay after school to finish their work under the supervision of teachers or hired tutors. Voluntary based after school tutorial are also offered to students of other levels. Higher achievers are granted other courses as well. School-based Curriculum: 1. Electives: 2X. 18 electives combinations from 11 subjects are provided for students to choose according to their ability and interest in every senior secondary level. 2. Curriculum highlights: Life education as well as Buddhism and Value Education are implemented in S.1 to S.3 to nurture students with good lifestyles and attitudes. Apart from subjects related to public examinations, students can also develop themselves via their individual learning experience to enrich their growth. In senior forms, School-based Applied Learning includes first-aid, make-up, photography, food and beverage catering is offered. Students need to participate in different learning activities such as religions, performing arts, study tour etc to gain experience outside the classroom. Development of Key Tasks: In order to improve students' reading ability, strengthen their reading and self-learning habits, the school has integrated reading as one of the main elements into the curriculum of all subjects. Through the setting of the theme-based reading activities, class teachers make good use of the self-regulated learning period to lead and encourage students to read. At the same time, different activities such as book exhibitions, book sharing and writers talk are held every year to promote the reading culture of the whole school. A projector, screen, computer linked with wireless network and a visualizer are installed in each classroom
