
Glorious Quran (Arabic Uthmani ) Translation by Abdullah Yusuf Ali Surah Maryam 1. ٓ ٓ ٓ Kaf Ha Ya 'Ayn Sad. 2. ۡ ! ۡ ۡ ! ö ۥ (This is) a recital of the Mercy of thy Lord to His Servant Zakariya. 3. ۡ . ! - + '*( ) ۥ '&% $# Behold! he cried to his Lord in secret, 4. @ ; ۡ ?< = + 6 ۡ ۡ ! ۡ ! ۡ > 3; :9 78 5036 4 123 60 Praying: "O my Lord! infirm indeed are my bones, and the hair of my head doth glisten with grey: ٕ ۢ ! 2 9;6ۡ ! A0 = J3 < but never am I unblest, O my Lord, in my prayer to Thee! 5. ۡ ! Kۡ 3 #$ +6 J8 HI 8ۡ 3 '6 )%&6 < F? 3 22 "Now I fear (what) my relatives (and colleagues) (will do) after me: but my wife is barren: 8 H LMۡ ! > ;' 6; so give me an heir as from Thyself -- 6. A 8 ! 6 7O ۡ N! >F% < ! ۡ =I ۡ ! ۡ P = (Q R36 ۖ◌ "(One that) will (truly) represent me, and represent the posterity of Jacob; and make him, O my Lord! one with whom Thou art well-pleased!" 7. \ Y '+ ^']U3 9YQZ [) ۥ V 9; WX 4 ;) ۥ 8U 4? < . ! ! ! . ۡ ! ! ۡ . ۡ ۡ ! ۡ ! (His prayer was answered): "O Zakariya! We give thee good news of a son: his name shall be Yahya: on none by that name have We conferred distinction before." 8. 83 `;3 < 8 ZQ ?6 F? 3 22 8 3 '6 9YQ4 H cI e 2 = >? . ! ! ! . ۡ ۡ ۡ ! ۡ He said: "O my Lord! how shall I have a son, when my wife is barren and I have grown quite decrepit from old age?" 9. J ;f >? He said: "So (it will be) : 3 g@ , I @! >? ! thy Lord saith, 'That is easy for Me: 8 ۡ ۡ ! 5AQ$ ?6 ! ۡ ۡ ! 0 i 9;6 4? <ۡj Y I did indeed create thee before, when thou hadst been nothing!' " 10. ۡ ٓ ?< = kF% H 4 R3◌ۚ (Zakariya) said "O my Lord! give me a Sign." 2 I q > ; mYQO 1n;3 9Q.i p2 5F% >? . ! ! "Thy Sign," was the answer, "shall be that thou shalt speak to no man for three nights, although thou art not dumb." 11. ? 3 zM ۡ 8 yK eyq x ,. 8Iۡ)ۦ > ۡ 3 ۡ ٓ. ۡ ;+ G6vM =Fۡ c2 9 ۡ ! FI{ ! s 6^ So Zakariya came out to his people from his chamber: he told them by signs to celebrate Allah's praises in the morning and in the evening. 12. Y LY5;3 f$ WysIA◌ۖ ۡ . ! ۡ .. ! (To his son came the command): "O Yahya! take hold of the Book with might": ۡ 9e~3 (Yn6iF%6 {7 ۡ .! ! ۡ and We gave him wisdom even as a youth. 13. 8 Ai c-6 sI. 6 '; < ! 'n6 And pity (for all creatures) as from Us, and purity: he was devout, 14. e 6 Fۢ J ۡ 9;6 (;Iۡ ! - FR < And kind to his parents, and he was not overbearing or rebellious. 15. m I 6 I I 6 ;6 I ( Q3 9YQq6 . ۡ ۡ ! ۡ ! !ۡ ! ۡ ! So Peace on him the day he was born, the day that he dies, and the day that he will be raised up to life (again) ! 16. ? 0 '.8 Q@2 < 8 f8'3 + 9 8 LY5e;3 36 ۡ ! ۡ ۡ . ۡ ۡ ۡ ۡ ۡ Relate in the Book (the story of) Mary, when she withdrew from her family to a place in the East. 3 17. fMۡ 8 ! ۡ > *96 She placed a screen (to screen herself) from them: ^ ۡ ۡ ۡ !;+ nQqvM 45M n6 F qI then We sent to her Our angel, and he appeared before her as a man in all respects. 18. Y ; ۡ ٓ?; + ! ! 2 I ۡ . ! c+ n8 < Ai n She said: "I seek refuge from thee to (Allah) Most Gracious: (come not near) if thou dost fear Allah." 19. ۟?< + q '2 YQ4 ; L@ >I . ! ! ! He said: "Nay, I am only a messenger from thy Lord, (to announce) to thee the gift of a holy son." 20. ^ e ۡ ?; . 2 ! cI! ! ۡ ۡ ۡ 7 9;6 9YQ4 H ! ۡ Z [2 9;6 She said: "How shall I have a son, seeing that no. man has touched me, and I am not unchaste?" 21. J ;f >? He said: "So (it will be) : 3 !?< !@ I g@ ,◌ۖ thy Lord saith, 'That is easy for Me: ۡ ! ۡ Q n;6) ۥ %n8 k6 1nQ; kF◌ۚ and (We wish) to appoint him as a Sign unto men and a Mercy from Us': 8 ۡ 2 c-6 ۡA8 F it is a matter (so) decreed." 4 22. ۡ ! ۡ f8'M (5QyM )ۦ 8.' ? So she conceived him, and she retired with him to a remote place. 23. ۡ ! . ۡ ۡ kQzn;3 fR H+ zK3 @%RvM And the pains of childbirth drove her to the trunk of a palm-tree: V8 ' n 6 FfY@ 4? 8 78 QY ;? ۡ ۡ ! ۡ .. ! ! ۡ she cried (in her anguish) : "Ah! would that I had died before this! Would that I had been a thing forgotten and out of sight!" 24. q 8 . J*nM ۡ 5 < ۡ p2 ۡ ! ۡR ? \ 4 5 But (a voice) cried to her from beneath the (palm-free) : "Grieve not! for thy Lord hath provided a rivulet beneath thee; 25. VR Q3 AYi kQzn;3 f ;+ )\ @ 6 ! ٓ ۡ ۡ ۡ ! .ۡ ۡ ! "And shake towards thyself the trunk of the palm-tree: it will let fall fresh ripe dates upon thee. 26. ! .M 0 ۡ 36 , ? 6 n63 ) ۖ◌ ۡ "So eat and drink and cool (thine) eye. ; ! QM } YQ; AM ^; 8 i M < 8 ۡ 3 < F2 ٓ ! f' + HI ! ۡ ۡ . < 8I ۡ ۡ ۡ 3 9Q2 < ۡ I +' And if thou dost see any man, say, 'I have vowed a fast to (Allah) Most Gracious, and this day will I enter into no talk with any human being.' " 27. ۡ ivM )ۦ ? ۡ ۡ ! !◌ۖ Q 8I) ۥ At length she brought the (babe) to her people, carrying him (in her arms) . 5 M Y ; ! }? FI . ۡ ! ۡ ۡ 0 R A; 9ۡj Y They said: "O Mary! truly an amazing thing hast thou brought! 28. Z 82 '- 86 %I ! q 28 3 [I 2 c- 8 c6 Y@ $vY ! .ٓ ۡ . ! ! ۡ ۡ ۡ ! "O sister of Aaron! thy father was not a man of evil, nor thy mother a woman unchaste!" 29. ۡ ۡ ◌ۖ 0vM +; ) But she pointed to the babe. 8 ; ! }? FI ۡ ! ! 9Q.' ۡ ۡ K3 c- < {7 They said: "How can we talk to one who is a child in the cradle?" 30. 7' 7Q R6 LY5e;3 7KiF% D3 + >? ۡ ! . ۡ . He said: "I am indeed a servant of Allah: He hath given me revelation and made me a prophet; 31. ! ۡ 2 -8 7Q R6- n 8 <! ! "And He hath made me Blessed wheresoever I be, 8* 8 sI \36 sI ; Q; 7Y}62 6 ۡ . .. ! ۡ ! and hath enjoined on me Prayer and Charity as long as I live; 32. 6 Fۢ J I ۡ ۡ ۡ A0 FR 7Q 9;6 2; "(He) hath made me kind to my mother, and not overbearing or miserable; 33. m 2 I! 8 6 I 2 I 6 ;6 I , 3 9YQ;36 . ! ۡ ! ! ۡ ! !ۡ ۡ ! "So Peace is on me the day I was born, the day that I die, and the Day that I shall be raised up to life (again) "! 6 34. 63 J ; ۡ ! 3> 8 ۡ 9◌ۚ Such (was) Jesus the son of Mary: ? ۡ ~ ۡ 3 >I ۡ !M )f;3 ¡ c6 ( (it is) a statement of truth, about which they (vainly) dispute. 35. fz5 c2 D c- 8 8nYyq ۖ◌ ۚ◌ ;6 <) ۥ ! ۡ . ! It is not befitting to (the majesty of) Allah that He should beget a son. Glory be to Him! e M A 8 ? + F ٓ. ۡ 2 M F ! ! I!< ;) ۥ !> !!cI When He determines a matter, He only says to it, "Be," and it is. 36. ! ! ۡ ۡ ! !!ö6M 9e6 D3 c+6◌ۚ Verily, Allah is my Lord and your Lord: Him therefore serve ye: 9 A58 £ } FfY@ . J ! ۡ this is a Way that is straight. 37. 8 ۡ 3 Q5$Mۡ ۡ ۢ =F\! ۡ n6 < ۖ◌ۡ 9 But the sects differ among themselves: ] ] 8 # M ۡ fQ; 4I < F6{ ! ۡ^8 < ۡI : 9 and woe to the Unbelievers because of the (coming) Judgment of a momentous Day! 38. ۡ ۡ Uۡ 2 ۡ ¤ ۡ ۡ 26 9 ۡ i! v In'I◌ۖ How plainly will they see and hear, the Day that they will appear before Us! 7 ; eY 3 < ;ۡ 3 cI QY:; 8 4YQP I g . . ! ۡ . ! But the unjust today are in error manifest! 39. ۡ~ ? 8 ۡ ۡ 9@f'26 ۡ 3 I ۡ + sۡ ! ۡ 3 !ۡ ۡ ۡ ۡ!!! !n8 ¥ۡ ! p 9@6 kQ#¦ 9@6cI But warn them of the Day of Distress, when the matter will be determined: for (behold) , they are negligent and they do not believe! 40. R 8 ' § +' ۡ ! > ! ۡ ۡ 6 3 N ۡ ۡ ۡQ3 < ۡ ! n6;+6 !cI It is We Who will inherit the earth, and all beings thereon: to Us will they all be returned. 41. 36 LY5e;3 + ◌ۚ @ 9 ۡ ! ۡ ۡ . ۡ J Also mention in the Book (the story of) Abraham: ! -+') ۥ -A} c '7 he was a man of Truth, a prophet.
