
MERINGUE COOKIES! Ingredients 3 Egg whites 3/4 cup sugar 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar 1/2 tsp vanilla Food coloring sprinkles (optional) Instructions • Preheat oven to 250 degrees. • Line two baking sheets with aluminum foil and set aside • Crack each egg and gently pour the egg yolk back and forth between the shells over a bowl. Let the egg white fall into the bowl. Discard the egg yolk and shell. Repeat with each egg until you have all three egg whites in the mixing bowl. • Using an electric mixer, beat the egg whites until they look creamy and soft peaks form when you lift the beaters out of the bowl. • Beat the egg whites while adding in the sugar one tablespoon at a time until all sugar is used up. • Add the cream of tartar, vanilla and food coloring and continue mixing until the mixture has stiff peaks when you lift the beater from the bowl. • Using a cookie scoop, scoop the batter onto the prepared baking sheets spacing about 1 inch apart. • Add sprinkles or colored sugars as desired. • Bake in the oven for 1 hour until cookies are set. • After the hour is finished, turn the oven off and keep the cookies in the oven with door closed for 10 additional minutes. • Remove the cookies after 10 minutes, cool completely and enjoy!
